Dacryocystitis is an inflammation of the sacculus lacrimalis that is positioned between the inner corner of eyelids and nose. The major causes of dacryocystitis are infections caused by candida albicans, obstruction of the tube that carries tears from sacculus lacrimalis to nose and tumors of sinus & nose.
Congested tube filled with tears quays bacteria and other germs leads to infection of sacculus lacrimalis.
