Remedies for Hemorrhoids

Stretched out or swollen veins in the anal canal or lower rectum is called hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can be internal or external depending up on whether they are projected in to the anal canal or developed under the skin surface around the anal opening.

Hemorrhoids produce itching, burning sensations, blood on toilet paper or stool, throbbing pain etc. Hemorrhoids can be due to low fiber diet, family history, constipation, obesity, age, pregnancy, laxatives. Prolonged sitting and standing etc may leads to hemorrhoids.

Chamomile

Chamomile is found to have anti-inflammatory property and hence it helps you to sooth the hemorrhoids. It may help you to reduce the itching and redness on the skin. Steep chamomile tea bags in hot water for about five minutes and then make it cool by keeping in refrigerator. Now you can apply this on hemorrhoids.

Psyllium seeds

Include psyllium seeds in your breakfast as Psyllium is a high fiber containing seed and hence it makes the stool soft and aids in easy bowel movement.. For this soak one teaspoon psyllium seeds in one glass of water and take this along with breakfast. Continue this for a week and then take one more glass of water mixed with psylluim seeds along with your lunch. By third week take psyllium seeds at least three times a day. While taking psyllium seeds you need to drink a lot of water also.

Pomegranate

Get the pomegranate peels and boil them in water. Drink this water daily in the morning and in the evening. This may help you to get rid of the hemorrhoids.

Mustard and Goat’s Milk

Get ten grams of black mustard and grind it in to a fine powder. Mix this powder with goat’s milk of about 150 milliliters. Also add five grams of sugar to this mixture and mix well. Drink this mixture daily and early in the morning and get relief from the bleeding hemorrhoids.

Aloe Vera

Spread aloe vera gel on the affected area of the anus and this aids in getting relief from the burning sensation and the pain.

Include more fiber rich fruits and vegetables in your diet and increase your bowel movement. You can also take whole wheat grains, oats, soy beans, lentils, legumes etc and get relief from the discomfort of hemorrhoids.
