How To Cure Alcoholism Naturally

March 27, 2009

Consumption of alcohol in itself is not a problem. It becomes one when one cannot control himself/herself from drinking excessive alcohol. Such a addiction is called alcoholism. Alcoholism is referred to as a state of disorder when an individual is not capable to refrain from frequent and too much consumption of alcohol.

Symptoms of Alcoholism

Alcoholics have some typical traits in their looks like bloodshot eyes, inflated face, hoarse voice and a quick pulse. They are usually doubtful, ill-tempered and over sentimental. Vomiting, delirium and disturbed sleep are other problems that an alcoholic faces. Excessive alcohol damages the liver and can cause stomach disorders. Alcohol also affects the brain cells and the heart.

Remedies

Treatment of alcoholism is not easy. It causes many physiological and psychological problems when one tries to quit drinking. But home remedies are a good cure to such an addiction. They do not try to simply cure the problem. Home remedies supply a suitable healthy substitute in place of the addiction and thus help the person quit drinking.

Grapes

The most effective home medicine for alcoholism is a special diet of grapes. Because this fruit contains the purest form of alcohol, it is a perfect alternate for alcohol. Alcoholics must take three meals a day of fresh grapes at five-hourly intervals. The achievement of this treatment depends on the strength of mind of the alcoholic to discontinue drinking.

Apples

Apples are also effective in curing alcoholism. Eat at least two apples a day for one month. Apples help in getting rid of intoxication and reduce the craving for wines and additional intoxicating liquors.

Bitter Gourd Leaves

The juice of bitter gourd helps in curing a damaged liver. It acts as a good cure for alcoholism and damaged liver due to alcohol. Three teaspoons of bitter-gourd leaves juice, mixed with a glass of butter milk, should be taken each morning for a month.

Celery

The juice of raw celery helps an alcoholic to become calm and sober. It also reduces the urge for alcohol.  Half a glass of celery juice mixed with an identical quantity of water be supposed to be taken once daily for a month.
