The nutritional value of pulses is common knowledge. We all make sure we include generous amounts of pulses in our diet. With a variety to choose from, its easy and also a tasty food. What few know is that pulses used in various forms also make very good nutrition for the skin. Eating pulses on a daily basis keeps the body free from constipation and the skin healthier. It helps build and keep cells stronger which accounts for better looking skin that stays from catching infections.

Pulses are not only used for consumption. Applications of pulses can also prove extremely beneficial for the skin.

BLACK GRAM

Make a paste of cooked black gram and add some fenugreek to it. Wash the hair with this mixture regularly. This application helps aid hair growth, keeps it black and also helps cure dandruff.

GREEN GRAM

The flour of the green gram is the best detergent. It makes an ideal replacement for soap, which contains glycerine and chemicals. The flour helps remove dirt, and does not cause any irritation to the skin. It has an added bleaching effect on the skin. Consumption is also beneficial as it subsides body irritation.

LENTIL

This is a good pulse that few know alternate uses for. Take lentil flour and mix with the cream from milk. This makes a very good bleaching agent, which also helps fight wrinkle formation.

All pulses make good face packs. As they dry on the skin they have the tendency to tighten well. This helps in toning the skin, stopping skin from sagging and also gives the skin a very good glow.

The pulses just got more people friendly. There are so many uses of pulses that research keeps throwing up. No matter how or when, make the best use of pulses and see a whole new you.
