There are various ways of enhancing your memory. Certain herbs are known to boost our brain function.
Brahmi
This is the most popular herb used in Ayurvedic medicine to stimulate brain function. The scientific name of brahmi is Herpestis Monniera. The active ingredients present in this herb rejuvenate the brain cells. Brahmi removes toxins from the nervous system. This herb can also be used as a remedy for drug abuse and alcoholism. Brahmi tonics are consumed to promote brain function.
Turmeric
This spice, which gives the curry its yellow color, is extremely good for the brain. Curcumin, found in turmeric, enhances memory. It can also prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
Ginger
Zingerrone, present in ginger, prevents neuron damage. This herb can be used to prevent memory loss.
Siberian Ginseng
Siberian Ginseng increases flow of oxygen and blood in the brain. This herb is effective in fighting stress. Stress is one of the major factors responsible for poor cognitive function.
Cinnamon
According to studies, cinnamon could significantly improve brain function. Smelling cinnamon can also improve cognitive function.
Gingko biloba
This herb could enhance cognitive function. It is recommended for treating dementia. Studies have found that consumption of gingko biloba is beneficial for Alzheimer’s disease patients.
Gotu Kola
In traditional Chinese medicine, Ping Da Wan or Gotu Kola is one of the best herbs used for improving brain power. The effectiveness of this herb is considerably enhanced when taken with Siberian Ginseng.
Cocoa beans
Although, the sweet chocolate bar is a sinful treat for your health, but nonetheless, the cocoa beans from which chocolate is derived, is extremely beneficial for the health. The antioxidant rich phytochemicals present in cocoa beans could improve the brain function. The Aztecs used cocoa beans to prepare a tonic that was good for both the mind and the body.
Coffee beans
Regular consumption of coffee made from freshly ground coffee beans could boost your memory. The antioxidant property of coffee bean prevents damage of neurons. Risk of age related memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease could be reduced with regular coffee consumption.
