Medicinal Herb – Tulsi
Indian medicines have always been herbal. Lots of importance is given to nature by Indians. The herbs which are used for the preparation of medicines bears a tradition of more than a 1000years. “Tulsi”, stands out in the supreme position amongst all herbs used therapeutically.
Tulsi is found in front of every Indian household. It is considered to be sacred, and is believed to have a positive effect on the house and its members. The Latin name for tulsi is “Ocimum Sanctum” this plant is used for both prevention and cure of poor health and it has many medicinal properties.
Eating 5 -6 tulsi leaves daily helps to ward off many diseases. Common cold, cough, throat pain , stomachache, headache, vomiting, skin irritations, indigestion, worms , insect bites, acne, and many more ailments are effectively cured by intake of tulsi. As per Unani system of medicine, tulsi is the best cure for reducing swelling, gastric problems, indigestion and preventing loss of appetite.
Make it a habit to intake a teaspoon of tulsi juice with honey, once every day. It brings natural rosiness to your cheeks and wards off any kind of virus infection.
Tulsi paste is effective in removing lice from your hair. Apply the paste as per requirement and leave overnight. Cover your head properly with a towel. Next day morning, wash it off. There is no need to use any shampoo for washing it.
It is vital for any skin related disorders. To remove scars and blemishes, make a paste of these leaves and apply it in the affected area regularly. Your problem will be solved in a week.
For common cold, boil few tulsi leaves, with some ginger and honey. Add crushed pepper to it. Intake it in its hot steaming form. Cure is guaranteed. It can also be used in cases of fever.
When most advanced medicines fail to provide any relief, tulsi helps. thus, we may safely say a tulsi leaf a day keeps the diseases away.
