Health benefits of cinnamon tea

Food for diabetics

Cinnamon tea is extremely beneficial for diabetes patients. Studies have shown that it improves the insulin function in people suffering from type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes patients usually suffer from insulin resistance. There body is unable to absorb the insulin properly. The pancreas might fail to produce sufficient insulin for metabolizing the sugar in the body. Studies have shown that a type of polyphenol, found in cinnamon, activates certain enzymes in the body, helping the body to reduce insulin resistance. Drinking two cups of cinnamon tea daily could help diabetes patients to reduce their blood sugar level.

Lowers blood cholesterol

Cinnamon tea could help to reduce the total cholesterol level in the blood stream. While keeping the level of high-density lipoprotein or good cholesterol level in the blood unchanged, cinnamon tea could help to reduce the level of low-density lipoprotein or bad cholesterol in the blood.
