Depression is a condition in which the mind, thoughts and body move towards a state of negativity. This state of mind impairs the person from doing the normal things. Here the person may be suffered mentally and emotionally.
Depression can be due to mental stress, anxiety, monotonous life, environmental factors, deficiency of vitamin B complex, genetic cause, hormonal changes etc. If the depression is mild to moderate then you can cure it with natural treatments.
Remedies for Depression
Asparagus
Asparagus roots are widely used for treating depression. Grind the roots in to a fine form. Give this powder to the patient for at least two times a day.
Turmeric
If the depression is due to environmental factors then turmeric powder is an effective curative.
Omega 3 fatty acid
Omega 3 fatty acid is a good fat that is essential for normal functioning of the brain. Your body can’t synthesis omega 3 fatty acid; hence you need to take foods that are rich in omega 3 fatty acid. Fish such as sardines, salmon, and anchovies are rich in omega 3 fatty acid.
Folic Acid
Folic acid is a vitamin B and its deficiency is found to cause depression in people. Folic acid is seen in green leafy vegetables, fruits, beans, fortified grains etc.
Rose Petals
Soak 20 to 30 rose petals in a glass of water and boil it for about 15 minutes. Allow this mixture to cool and take this mixture at least three times a day. Rose petals are found to be very effective in reducing the depression.
Basil and Sage
Make a tea and to this add ½ teaspoon of sage and ¼ teaspoon of basil to a cup of hot water. Take this mixture two times a day and helps the patient for getting relief from the depression.
Cardamom
Get two green cardamoms and take the seeds from the cardamom. Grind these seeds to make a fine powder and add it to a cup of boiled water. Also add a little sugar to this mixture and drink this mixture when it is warm. This may help the patient to get over the depression.
