Natural Remedy for Hair Odor
Bad smell of the hair is caused by fungus that lives in the oily scalp. The oil produced by the sebaceous gland remains as a growing medium for the fungus and fungus thrives well in this oil.
It may happen on any person but it is mostly seen in women of around 40 to 50 years. Hair odor makes you embarrassed and you may feel to be an introvert. Here are some solutions that may help you to get rid of this hair odor.
Solutions for Removing Hair Odor
Sulfur Containing Shampoo
Wash your hair daily and it may help you to remove the oil and dirt from your scalp and thus helps you to get rid of the fungus that grows on the scalp. While shampooing the hair care should be taken to use a shampoo that contains sulfur and salicylic acid in it. Sulfur may help you to ward off the fungus while salicylic acid removes the oil in which fungus lives.
Baking Soda
Add a little baking soda to a bucket of water and wash your hair with this water. You can also add one tablespoon of baking soda to three cups of warm water. Pour this mixture on your scalp and hairs and message it for 20 seconds and then rise off. This may help you to wash out the fungus that cause odor on your hair. It may also help you to clean the residues on the scalp.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix one tablespoon apple cider vinegar with four cups water. Apply this mixture on the scalp and massage it on the roots of the hairs for about 10 minutes. Then wash off with plain water.
Tomato Juice
Apply concentrated tomato juice on your scalp and allow the scalp and hairs to be soaked in tomato juice for 15 minutes. You can also dilute tomato juice by adding ten times water to the juice and can massage on the scalp.
Never tie your wet hair as it may cause development of smell on the hair. Also ensure that you are not using anybody else’s comb and towel as it may leads to the spread of fungus.
