Natural Treatments for Diaper Rashes

Diaper rashes are the red colored rough skin that may associate with scaling. It is seen in the area of diaper and in extreme cases it may spread to areas outside the diaper.
These rashes if left untreated will become pimples, sores and blisters. This will irritate your baby and he won’t remain happily. Diaper rashes develop due to the moisture and heat inside the diaper and it may pave the way for germs also.
In order to prevent the diaper rashes you have to change your baby’s diaper frequently. Before getting him to sleep make sure that you have changed the diaper. It is necessary to wash your baby’s bottom at every diaper change and keep it clean. Allow air circulation at the baby’s bottom area and try to keep that area dry.
Home Remedies for Diaper Rashes
Olive Oil
Olive oil has good medicinal property of healing the diaper rashes. Mix equal quantities of water and olive oil and apply it on the affected parts of your baby’s body.
Cod liver Oil
Cod liver oil is also found to be beneficial in the treatment of diaper rashes. You will get capsules containing cod liver oil readily in the market. Open the capsule and apply the ingredients over the infected area.
Flour
Take some flour and heat the flour in a frying pan on medium or low heat and make it golden brown. You can use this for dusting while changing your baby’s diaper.
Milk of Magnesia
Apply Milk of magnesia which is the milky white liquid suspension of magnesium hydroxide on the infected area of your baby and this will help the rashes to get heal quickly. This will also give relief to the baby from the burning sensations.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has a medicinal property of healing the rashes, itchy skin, cuts and irritations. You an apply aloe vera gel on the affected area and this will make the skin free of moisture and will prevent the further rashes formation.
Vegetable Oil
You can also use vegetable oil on your baby’s infected area and this will reduce the irritations.
Vinegar
If you are using the cloth diapers for your baby then wash the diapers in warm water and then in water containing a cup vinegar. Then rinse the diapers in pure water. This will protect your baby from the harmful effects of chemicals in the washing powder and his chance for further development of rashes will reduce.
