Nutrients For The Hair

January 6, 2009

There are nutrients that are required for the proper functioning of the body. Every organ has its own special requirement, and it is necessary to keep a balanced, healthy diet to maintain healthy functioning of the body as a whole.

The hair can take quite a beating. It is continually exposed to harsh conditions of the evironment and often, our own neglect. Special requierments of the hair, when met, can help them stay, and grow better.

Omega 3 foods are very important for the hair. These are found in foods like salmon and sardines. Most sea food is high in Omega3 foods, and can help in keeping hair stonger.

Vitamin B is another very important food for the hair. Vegeatbles like beans, peas and carrots are great. Nuts and eggs are also good foods. Bran makes an excellent food since it is full of fibre and has an added advantage.

Animal fats are very bad for the hair, since they can cause a lot of damage to hair follicles. Avoid red meats completely if you have any complaints of hair fall. Red meats also have a lot of oil content in them. This can cause hair to start secreting more oils, and invite problems like dandruff and stickines. Avoid meats and processed foods as far as possible.

Green tea is a good beverage for the hair. It can kill fungus and infections that cause dandruff and other hair problems. Caffeine present in green tea can also slow balding. Green tea can also help in increasing the water conent that is contributed to the hair, and contriute to its well being. It helps in keeping the hair cleaner, and prevents it from becoming overly dry.

Having a balanced diet is the key to recovery for all ailments. It is the best medicine, and it’s all natural.
