Obesity is a situation in which there is excess fat deposition in the body. Obesity is condition where weight of the individual is more than 20 percent of the normal weight. Normal weight of a person is determined using his height, age and weight. People of any age and sex can be obese. Obesity in turn may cause various health problems like high cholesterol, gall bladder disease, cancer, stroke, osteoarthritis, heartburn, shortness of breathe etc.
Causes of Obesity
Obesity is the result of over eating which is the excessive consumption of calories over and above what body requires for normal functioning. People who have low basal metabolism too have a chance to become obese. Genetic factors, hormonal imbalance, sedentary lifestyle etc also leads to obesity. Similarly any disorder in the normal functioning of pituitary gland or thyroid gland may also cause the same.
Home Remedies for Obesity
Ginger Tea
Drink ginger tea for getting rid of the excess fat. This is because ginger is found to have fat burning properties.
Lime juice and Honey
If you can take fast with only lime juice and honey then it is an ideal treatment for obesity. Mix a teaspoon of honey with the juice taken from half of a lime and then add luke warm water to this mixture. Drink this mixture at regular intervals.
Carrot Juice
Regular intake of carrot juice is also found to be beneficial for reducing the weight.
Dandelion Root
Make a tea with dandelion root and drink this thrice as a remedy for obesity.
Curry Leaves
Get twelve fully developed curry leaves and eat this daily in morning for about three months. This may help you to lose weight.
Leaves of Indian Plum
Collect a handful of Indian plum leaves and soak them in water for over night. Next day morning strain this liquid and drink it in empty stomach.
Tomato
Daily take two ripe tomatoes in the early morning instead of your breakfast. Continue this for a month. Tomato will help you to reduce weight and to lower your cholesterol level. At the same time tomatoes will enrich you with vitamins and minerals.
Also avoid high calorie foods and salty foods as they contribute to your increased weight.
