The more we talk about citric fruits, the more there is to explore. Enough can never be said about the benefits they bring to the body. The orange is perhaps the most popular among these. Found in many varieties, and all across the world, it is most accepted because of its refreshing taste, aroma and appeal.

The orange is not only a wonderful fruit to taste, but also in terms of the ways it can be consumed in. As the fruit is gives not only its characteristic quality but also lots of fibre. The juice is instantly refreshing. Candied, it makes for wonderful desserts, the peel is a blessing to tea drinkers.

Oranges are full of vitamins and minerals. They have lots of anti oxidants which help fight diseases and improve immunity. They are also useful in slowing down ageing. Oranges contain pectin, a fibre that is soluble in water. Pectin helps lower the incidence of heart diseases.

Oranges are best eaten as a fruit as compared to the juice to give the added nourishment of fibre. Should you wish to have the juice of the orange, opt for freshly squeezed juice as opposed to the packaged variety.

Either to make juices or for cosumption in natural form, ensure that you use the orange as soon as it is peeled and cut. Exopsure to oxygen causes the vitamin C content to deplete rapidly, so avoid leaving it untouched for long.

Oranges are also great for the skin because of their high antioxidant content. They protect the skin from damage and ageing. Packs and peels using oranges are found commonly, and are among the most effective variety.

Use the orange liberally. For yourself, your children, and all of your family. Its your own natural vaccination for good health and happiness.
