Premature Hair Graying Remedies

Hair graying is a natural sign of aging. However, sometimes, hair graying starts at a younger age. Even children have gray hairs. Premature graying of hair can be quite embarrassing. It makes a person look older than his or her age.
Causes of Premature Hair Graying
Several reasons are responsible for premature hair graying. Hair graying occurs when the hair follicle stops production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of our hairs. Premature hair graying is often hereditary in nature. If graying of hair occurred in either of your parents or grandparents at an early age, you might suffer from premature hair graying. Sometimes, deficiency of certain minerals and vitamins are responsible for premature hair graying. Lack of adequate amount of iron, copper, iodine and vitamin B cause premature hair graying. When the oil production in the hair follicle ceases, hair graying occurs.
Excessive mental stress can also contribute to premature hair graying. Diseases of the thyroid gland, anemia, chronic sinusitis, chronic constipation and hormonal imbalance might be responsible for premature graying of hair. Improper hair care might also contribute to premature hair graying. Hair colors and electric hair dryers often damage the hair follicles, causing premature hair graying. Washing hair with water contaminated with toxic metals can also contribute to loss of hair color.
Premature Hair Graying Remedy
The first step in preventing premature hair graying is to have a diet rich in niacin, iron, copper and iodine. Leafy greens, spinach, bananas and carrots are some iron rich fruits and vegetables, which you should include in your diet. You can get your copper supply from almonds, cashew nuts, oysters, crabs and sunflower seeds. Seafood is a rich source of iodine. Avoid white carbohydrate products, colas and sugary foods.
Avoid excess alcohol, acid and caffeine rich food. Add a tablespoon of yeast to a liter of yogurt and consume it every day to arrest hair graying. Curry leaves are extremely good for the hair. Take a hand full of curry leaves and boil it in ½ liter of coconut oil. Massage your scalp with this oil every day to prevent and arrest further graying of hair.
