Protecting Hair During Winter
The hair can be rather distresing in the winters. This is especially tough since this is the time you want to look your best since the holidays are here, and its when you have all the parties to attend. The hair let’s you down by looking dry and lifeless. Special care during the winter season is most important in keeping the hair looking and feeling as great as your spirits do.
This time is most hard for those with dry hair, as the harshness of the winter only compounds its condition. Greater attention to the hair and its nature is key. Use a good night cream for the hair and leave it in without washing out.
Dry scalp is not the same as hair with dandruff, as most people make it out to be. To help treat it they often use anti dandruff shampoo which only makes it more dry and offers little help. Another cure people perceive they are administering to the hair is to oil the hair before they wash it off. What no one really understands is that oiling the hair before washing requires more shampoo on the hair, which strips the hair of the little natural oil it has. This is mere invitation of trouble.
Try using a hydration treatment for the hair, or a hydration mask to help keep the hair moist and help it reatin its own moisture as well. A shampoo directed for dry hair should work best, as opposed to other treatments.
A good home made treatment for the hair is a mixture of curd, egg and lime. The curd and egg are both slightly heave and help retain moisture in the hair. The lime helps give it a natural shaine alon with the curd, while the egg restores life and bounce into the hair.
Avoid using to many chemicals in the hair at this time since it only strips hair of water and leaves it dry. This is certainly not the time to experiment with the hair and try products at home, since abuse to the hair is most difficult to undo at this time.
