Pungent Peppers


Black pepper is available fresh, green in the Malabar region in India. The dry powder is used all over the world as a spice. Many people across the world like its hot taste and use it as a replacement for red chillies since they cannot tolerate the spice in chillies. Black pepper can be sprinkled in vegetables or fruits when eaten raw, and can be taken not only for the taste it imparts, but also for its properties.

Black pepper is anti-cold, anti-cough and anti-lethargy. It removes anorexia or loss of appetite. mixed with mollases or honey, it is good in relieving hyper acidity. Fresh lemon mixed with a little black pepper and salt is also useful in subsiding nausea. Six to ten grains of black pepper taken with clarifies butter and honey in the morning and evening subsides skin manifestations, particularly urticaria.

Herbal Spice Tea is also made using a range of spices, and with a generous inclusion of black pepper. This not only gives good flavour and aroma to the tea, but also keeps the body free from infections when taken on an ampty stomach.

A mixture of black pepper, basil, ginger juice and honey is good in curing malaria. Pickles can also be seasoned with black pepper as they subside gasrtic trouble and also help preserve the pickle longer.
If 10 seeds of black pepper and taken early in the morning and chewed on well on an empty stomach, thin and emaciated bodies will get properly nourished.

A mixture of ginger, black pepper, and a little mollases when taken with ghee or honey helps bring down feverish feelings.

Black pepper is a useful substitute to red and green chillies. Not only does it have a distinct, refreshing taste, but great medicinal properties too. The consumption of black pepper is not only a preventive form of medicine, but also restores good health to the body.
