Sensitive skin is entirely different from other types of skin and it gets irritated easily. The sensitive skin has low level of tolerance towards certain environmental condition and chemical products.
Hence the skin reacts by produce burning, stinging, itching, chafing etc. Different people produce different level of sensitivity towards the same substance. In order to care your sensitive skin you need natural products as they may not cause reaction on sensitive skin.
Diet
People having sensitive skin have to take plenty of vegetables and fruits that help them to make their skin perfect. Also avoid peppers and hot spices as it may trigger your skin and cause reactions. Also notice whether any foods are causing trouble to you and if so avoid them from your diet. Drink a lot of water as it helps you to remain hydrated. When the skin is perfectly hydrated then it will have the capacity to fight with the irritations.
Herbal Remedies
Ex-foliate
Mix four tablespoon of oatmeal with grapefruit juice and apply it in the skin. Rub the mixture gently on the skin and leave it on the skin for 15 minutes. Then wash off with warm water. This may help you to get rid of the dead tissues and skin flakes.
Toner
Steep some comfrey in water and use this solution as a skin toner. This will make your skin clean and also help you t contract the skin pores.
Essential Oils for Moisturizing the Skin
You can apply essential oils as moisturizers on the sensitive skin. Essential oils that can be used on sensitive skin include jojoba oil, almond oil, chamomile oil, sandalwood oil, lavender oil, rose oil etc.
Face Pack
Mix yogurt and cucumber and apply this mixture on your face. This may help you to keep your skin smooth and soft.
You can mix one tablespoon each of rosewater and honey and apply it on the skin for about 20 minutes. Then rinse it off with warm water.
Aloe vera is an ideal remedy for calming down the irritated skin and hence you can apply the fresh juice taken from aloe vera on the skin.
Green Tea
Green tea is found to have anti-inflammatory property and it helps you to inhibit the reactions on the sensitive skin.
Use any product only after applying on a small patch on your arm and after making sure that you don’t have any reactions.
