Right Footwear For Dresses
No look is complete without the right footwear. Selecting your favourite is important keeping in mind three aspects: fashion, the occasion and outfit, and comfort. Getting the right mix between all of these will ensure that the look is completed in the most appealing way.
While wearing a dress, you can afford to experiment most with your footwear. If you are wearing a casual summer dress for the day, try using bright, happy colours and prints on flat slippers. Fashionable wedges are also a good option. Make sure you have a good colour that goes well with your outfit, and that your footwear is comfortable. Comfort is the watch-word for daytime dressing. Strappy sandals and tie ups also work well with dresses. Motifs and sequin work complement delicate prints well, so you could try experimenting with these.
For beach wear, flip flops are ideal. They not only look extremely comfortable and pretty, but also match a confident, outgoing personality well. Other options to select from during the day include platforms and block heels.
During the evening, it might be worth being more conservative with your selections. Since long gowns are a more popular dress code for the evenings, the most obvious choice would be the stiletto. Today, fashion has reached a point where a number of colours, finishes, and styles within stilettos are available, which give them a break from monotony.
Choose good, sturdy footwear that support the feet well, especially since they have high heels and need to be worn for long durations. Silks, satins and velvet finishes are available with a range of sequined, shimmery finishes. Also available are stars, diamontes, and also beads that help give the footwear added character.
A handy tip when buying footwear, regardless of its type is to shop for shoes towards the evening since this is the time that feet are the largest. Try footwear on both feet before you make your choice since both feet do not always measure the same.
