The importance of eating enough protein is known by almost everyone. We try and incorporate portions of protein in all our meals in as many ways as we can. Pulses make the best form of protein. Not only are they good to consume on a regular basis, but they also double up as excellent skin remedies.

Bengal gram has numerous properties that benefit the skin in many ways. It helps improve its quality and texture. It improves the complexion, and also has curative powers that help heal many skin conditions. Use of bengal gram will make sure that your skin and hair is left healthier.

Flour of the unroasted gram is an effective cleansing agent. Regular use of this flour on the skin helps bleach it.

For allergic diseases like eczema, contact dermatitis and scabies, wash the face with bengal gram flour for good results.

Gram is useful in pimples cure. Mix the flour in curd and apply to the face. Leave in and wash out well after some time.

Using the flour in the hair helps keep it clean, soft and disease free.

For children, the flour can be used as an agent to wash the body instead of soaps which contain glycerine and chemicals.

To remove dirt from the face, mix bengal gram and cold milk and apply. Leave it till it has dried completely and then scrub slowly with hands using lukewarm water.
