Stomach Pain After Eating

Some people have stomach pain after taking their food  and there can be many  reasons for this stomach pain. If you have such pain then you have to consider it as a problem of the digestive system that may lead to other health problem and diseases. Here are some of the causes for stomach pain.

Causes for Stomach Pain

Ulcer

If you have ulcer in your stomach, duodenum, upper intestine then you will get pain after taking your food. This is because after having food the stomach acids act on the spicy food which may irritate the ulcers  in your stomach and thus cause the pain. Sometimes the ulcer that is produced with in the stomach may block the passage from the stomach to the duodenum and thus cause pain, nausea and vomiting.

Intestinal Obstruction

If you have obstructions in the intestine then you may have stomach pain and cramps after taking food. You may also have vomiting that has the smell of stools. Intestinal obstruction may also leads to watery stools and at times produce no stool.

Diverticulitis

If the pain is on the  lower left of stomach along with a tenderness on the stomach then it may be due to diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is the inflammation of the digestive tract.

Viral or Bacterial Infection

If any virus or bacteria enter  your body then it may result in stomach pain after food intake. This is because your body is trying to react to these organisms and thus get rid of them from your body. So may also have diarrhea and vomiting.

Gastritis

If you have gastritis problem then you may experience pain in the upper area of the stomach and at times along the rib cage. Some people may also have vomiting, heartburn, burning sensation and diarrhea along with the feeling of fullness.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

If the pain is due to irritable bowel syndrome then you may feel very tired and have bloating too. The pain will be more on the lower abdominal region.

If you eat too much food or consume food too fast then also you may have stomach pain. Drinking too much liquid after meals may also cause the same problem.
