Stunning Eyes Made Easy
October 16, 2008
The eyes are truly the window to the world. Not only is our life mainly a reflection of what we see around us, but also guides us to become who we are. Care for the eyes is, hence, imperative. Simple cures found in the convenience of our homes can take care of most common eye problems. The more serious ones should be given immediate medical attention.
Sore Eyes
Sore eyes or conjunctivitis is a problem that we are faced with occasionally. Irritation, inflammation and swelling of the eyes make the condition more difficult to deal with. The application of breast milk is known to provide immediate relief. Not only does this soothe irritation, but also helps heal faster. It is also used to prevent the infection from spreading to the other eye.
Tired Eyes
Apply castor oil around the eyes and over the eyelids before sleeping at night. This relaxes tired eyes and also fosters the growth of thick, long eyelashes. Use cucumber slices or used refrigerated tea bags over the eyes to give them relief. Splashing the eyes with cold water or rose water is also a good remedy for tired eyes.
Red Eyes
Eyes can turn red due to dust, irritation or even fatigue. Apply warm rice tied in a muslin cloth and mixed with a few drops of castor oil over the eyes. This gives the eyes much relief and also reduces the redness. This cannot be used by those who have undergone surgery for the eye or by those who have had a lens replacement.
Sty
A sty can be cured by using a paste made of red wood to the area around the infected area and over the lids. This cures the sty very quickly and painlessly.
Black Circles
Black circles around the eyes are common. Use potato slices or grated potatoes over the dark circles and leave them on for about half an hour. This is known to reduce the dark circles quickly.
Care for the eyes is simple. However, sometimes simple looking problems could often be the harbinger of a serious problem lurking beneath. Should any trouble persist, rush for medical attention. Also, remember to get the eyes checked regularly.
