Styling Options For Long Faces

December 26, 2008

How often we feel like our face looks unending. Like there is no character, but just too much length to the face. And that there can never be any way that we can look beautiful again. Your cause for distress is over. Simple solutions can help mask and overcome this problem most effectively.

Start by working on all your clothes, accessories and styles to add width to the face. This will not only detract from the length, but will also complement the face well.

Hoops are the best earrings to wear for such people. It adds a whole new accent around the sides of the face, and makes it appear wider.

While styling the hair, go for a look that has a good solid fringe on the face. This will help cover a lot of the forehead area and make the face look shorter than it is. Also, try working a style around the jawline to mask it as well. Try highlighting the fringe to make it look brighter and catch more attention. Leave less play on the colour of layers around the face as they will only make the focus on the face greater.

While using make up, keep the shades for the forehead and chin much darker than the cheekbones and try to define the eyebrows well. The play of light and colour can be used to good advantage to highlight certain areas of the face while detracting attention from others.

Choose clothes that can cover the neck region well. Turtle necks and polos are good, since they cling to the face and give a lessened accent to it. Avoid wearing very low or V necks that ony give an added illusion of height.

A little trickery is all that is required to mask any imperfection in the body. Use your good sense to cover up yours.
