Sugary Woes

November 5, 2008

Blood sugar is a problem that requires treatment for life. While there are few foods that can actually cure diabetes, there are some that can help keep sugar levels in check.Make a powder of fenugreek seeds. Have a teaspoon of this powder every morning on an empty stomach with a glass of water. This will help keep blood sugar levels protected.
Bitter gourd is an excellent remedy for diabetes. They help better the flow of insulin, and can be used in a variety of ways.

Peel the skin off the bitter gourd, dry and make a fine powder. Have a spoon of this powder everyday with either powder or honey.

The juice of bitter gourd can be had every two days for good results.

Cooked with a pinch of salt and turmeric, bitter gourd makes for a good vegetable. Make sure you use little spice and oil while cooking.

Fresh fruits and vegetables should be consumed daily. Have them without any dressing.

Cut out fats and salts from the diet. They should all be eaten in moderation. Do not consume clarified butter as it makes the condition worse.

Make your lifestyle more regulated. Avoid sugar from all foods. Eat foods low in fat and spices, and controlling diabetes is easy.
