The Agony Of Unhealthy Hair

January 13, 2009

Having a bad hair day is common-we all face it once in a while. But there are times when a lean patch can last you longer than you really hoped for. Regular care for the hair is most essential – it can cause damage that can take long to undo.

Fragile hair that is irresponsive and breaks easily can really be a disaster. This kind of hair is not only unmanageable, but also very difficult to style. It can succumb to treatments, products and accessories. Split ends are another common cause for worry.

Healthy eating habits and patterns have an important role to play in the strength of the hair. It needs a balance of all food groups to be able to retain its health and strength. People who go no crash diets without really studying the food they eat are most likely to suffer weak hair. Most times, the hair is the first to react to diets and start to lose its own volume and weight. Imbalances in the diet where any food type is insufficient or absent entirely can cause hair problems.

Make sure that you balance your meals and diet well. Include a few portions of fresh foos like fruits and vegetables to increase water and fibrous content for the hair. Make sure some amounts of all foods, including fats, are incorporated into your meals everyday.

Regular haircuts and trims are important in keeping split ends in check. This is the way that you can tackle the problem. Avoid combing he hair when it is wet, and use only a wide toothed comb to remove tangles as this can cause hair to stretch and weaken, and can also split hair.

Watch out for the hair better during colder months. The hair tends to weaken and lose its natural texture during this time. Make sure you supplement the hair with appropriate oils, shampoos and conditioners.
