Lemons are hugely popular, and that’s no secret. They are used to give a spark to dishes and salads, and the juice is also used very extensively to refresh the body and mind. Lemon juices are perhaps the most popular variety that find universal appeal.

The most popular quality of lemons are the high Vitamin C content. The good that it does in benefiting colds, improving the immunity, and also in curing and healing the body is talked about very often. What is little talked about is the other nutrients present in lemons. It is also probable that these are less known to many.

Lemons are store houses of a whole lot of valuable minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, copper, zinc, iron and also manganese. This makes it one of the only complete forms of food. Adding a dash of lemon to your food is not only giving your taste buds some delight, but also rescuing the body in a big way.

Lemon has the tendency of being acidic on the tongue, but has an alkaline effect in the stomach. It is most effective in curing stomach ailments, digestive problems, and other problems when had with hot water.

A number of ailments, including biliousness, nausea, heartburn, constipation and worms can also be taken care of by the use of lemons.

Lemons can help treat a large number of skin problems since its acidic nature acts as an effective bleaching agent, and also has the ability to kill germs and bacteria effetively.

Antioxidants that are rich in the lemon help make it a very good cure for ailments of the heart, and also help in increasing the count of red blood cells and resistence levels.
