The Easy Way to Gorgeous Hair

December 2, 2008

No matter what kind, length, style and texture of hair you have, the most fundamental desire that everyone has is for the hair to look healthy and full of lustre. We spend a lot of time choosing products for our hair to make it look better. While selecting your brand and type, make sure you have kept in mind not only your hair type, but also the climatic conditions and the pollution levels that your hair is exposed to. Also keep in mind the lifestyle you lead and the degree of harshness that the hair is subjected to as a result.

A balanced diet that is high in fibre, fruits and green vegetables is most important for the hair. So are leafy vegetables, plenty of water and proteins. This is not replaceable, and is a must for everyone.

There is a simple routine that can be followed to keep the hair shiny and bouncy.

Start by oiling the hair well at the roots. Try and choose a good herbal oil that agrees with your hair well. After applying the oil use your finger tips to make small rotary movements along the scalp and massage well. Try and be gentle and use only the tips of the fingers to avoid the hair from getting into knots. Once the oil has been applied, use the remaining oil to moisten the tips and body of the hair completely.

Take a towel and dip it in hot water and remove excess water from it. Now apply the towel to the head and leave for about fifteen minutes. This is a conditioner for the hair. A substitute can also be to stand in mild sunlight to give the hair benefit of Vitamin D.

Once this is done, make a fine pack for the hair. To make the pack you will need equal amounts of henna powder, amla powder, and the powder of hibiscus flowers that have been dried slightly. To this add the juice of one lemon and some curd. Apply the pack on the hair making sure it is done evenly, and covering all areas well. Leave in till it dries completely.

Wash the hair using either baby shampoo or a mild variety that is diluted. Once washed, avoid using artificial dryers for the hair. Instead, let it dry naturally, and you will notice that it is more shiny and full of volume and bounce. This can be repeated every fortnight for normal hair, or even on a weekly basis for damaged hair.
