The Magic of Foundation
Foundation is an integral part of applying make up. No make up looks quite as complete and beautiful as with the use of foundation. It helps bring out the colour and shades of the make up better, and also helps hide blemishes and imperfections of the skin.
Foundations are available in different types. Oil based, water based, oil free and water free foundations are different types that can be chosen. Liquid foundations give sheer to moderate coverage. Mousse has completely sheer tones. Water based foundations are also moderate in their coverage. Water free foundation is full and opaque, as are sticks. Mattes are flat with no shine, and semi mattes have minimal shine and are dewy. Depending on the look you are trying to achieve, the foundation can be selected accordingly.
Choosing the right shade of foundation is important. If you want to look a little fairer, try using a shade lighter than your skin tone. Choose the type of foundation depending on your own skin type. If you have oily skin, opt for a matte finish or mousse foundation. For drier skin, liquids are best. During the day, use very light foundation, while shinier heavier foundations can be chosen for the night.
Foundations can be applied using the fingers, sponge or a buffer brush. If the skin has lots of blemishes, apply a matte based foundation using the finger tips. For flawless skin, use liquid with the help of a brush and blend with a sponge. Whatever the method you use, make sure you have a finish that is spread well and evenly. If it is uneven, it will begin to look patchy and messy. Use a moisturiser beneath the foundation for the night, and a sunblock for the day.
Make sure you spary some mineral water on the face before you apply any foundation. While getting it off, ensure the skin is cleansed with some wet wipes after you have removed all traces of the foundation completely.
Use foundation and you will see a fairer, brighter and prettier finish to your look. Get it right, and you can transform even a simple look to a stunner.
