The Perils of Breast Cancer
Cancer of the breast is known to be one of the forms that can be treated at most times, unless it reaches very advanced stages. If detected at an early stage, cancer of the breast can be arrested easily.
The best way to check for breast cancer is by conducting an examination on the fifth day of the menstrual cycle. While you may check at any time, this is believed to be the best period to make an assessment. Check the breasts by running your fingers over them to see if there are any lumps. If you find that there might be some growth, have it checked immediately.
Growths can be either malignant or cancerous, and benign or fibroids. The nature of the growth can also be determined by other tests and blood examinations. To make more detailed studies, any of the following methods can be conducted : a mammogram, untrasounds, or an MR mammogram, the latest development. This does not have any radiation, and is known to give the most accurate results.
For those above the age of thirty, routine examinations are a must.
The method of treatment would vary depending on the kind of results the examination shows. The options are operating on the breast, which could sometimes entail removal, radiation and chemotherapy. There may even be a combination of two types of treatment used to get better results.
The most dangerous part about breast cancer is that is has the highest risk of spreading to other parts if it is at a more advanced stage. It could be transmitted to the lungs, liver, or even the brain.
Herbal oncology has been extremely useful today in helping patients recovering from cancer. Herbal oncology is helpful in making sure that cancer does not spread to other parts, and also that other side effects from treatment are cared for. It is seen that with herbal oncology, platelet counts and other readings are not affected from treatment.
