The Weight Gain Program

November 24, 2008

All diet plans are normally geared towards losing weight. Some people are blessed with a naturally perfect frame and need to work on it very little. There are some who need to focus on gaining more weight. In their bid to put on extra kilos, they binge and eat the worng foods. Eating correctly is critical even while trying to put on weight.

People who want to put on weight think that eating a lot of fatty starchy foods are the best way to gain instant weight. This may help you pile on the weight quickly, but has a lot of adverse effects on the body subsequently. Problems like diabetes, blood pressure, heart ailments and cholestorol tend to build up as undue amounts of junk food, sweets, and fats.

The right way to eat is to consume healthy fats that will build up mass in the body, and also boost overall health. The key is to have more portions of good foods rather than unhealthy forms.

Carbohydrates are good in gaining weight. Use the option of having a salad made with pasta, or pasta fortified with other vegetables. This should be a more healthy meal. Have more bread. Use the multi-grain variety which also has plenty of fibre. Today, there are a variety of breads avaiable that you can choose from. Avoid plain flours as they do not contribute much to the body.

Try having more fruits. These have natural sugars and are good for you, as opposed to other artificial sweets. Mangoes, bananas and other seasonal fruits are not only delicious, but great for the body too. Make milkshakes and smoothies using the fruits and increase weight.

Milk is another good option. It has abundant calcium and is very good for the bones. Use full fat milk, or double fat milk while you consume in any form. Yogurt is also very good.

Dry fruits are great for the body. They are an excellent healthy snack fortified with body builing nourishment and essential oils. Try having some cashews, walnuts and almonds instead of the packet of chips. Watch for the quanitity of intake as it could lead to increase in cholostorol levels with excess.

Putting on weight is fun. You don’t need to watch what you eat too much as long as you stay away from poisons for the body. The chance to experiment is greater, and the gratification instant.

My most difficult problem to overcome has always been motivation. It’s easy to start dieting but to keep on it is another issue all together.
