The Woes of Ageing Skin
There are many tell-tale signs to show that your skin is responding to age. While these are inevitable at later stages, taking some precautions can help delay the onset of skin problems and keep the skin looking young longer.
Often, skin problems are caused by habits. Smoking causes skin to age much faster, and also causes the formation of lines and wrinkles. The skin starts to dry up faster and sags. Avoid smoking to keep the skin healthy. Sunscreens are also very important for the skin, as they will prevent sun damage that also causes skin to age prematurely.
Bags around the eyes are most often caused due to hereditary factors. These are caused by the collection of fat around the eyes. While problems caused by hereditary factors can only be cured, those brought on by us can be controlled. Avoid consuming excess alcohol, which has been found to contribute to bags. Also, make sure that you get at least seven hours of undisturbed sleep every night to give the eyes enough rest and avoid puffiness.
Lines around the mouth, or frown lines are another common phenomenon. While avoiding smoking is one way that you can avoid this problem, regular use of moisturisers that contain glycolic acid helps. Also try using glycolic peels on the face. This could take quite a few applications before you could see visible changes.
Wrinkles and facial lines are most difficult to get rid of. Only cosmetic procedures like collagen and botox intervensions can help in getting rid of these issues.
The key to healthy skin is to strike a balance between good habits and a healthy lifestyle with proper care. A healthy lifestyle slows skin ageing. It may be time for you to take a break and re-look at your skin care routine all over again. Form a good plan and you will find that youthful skin is not so difficult after all.
