Tips on Baby Food
Once a child is born, everyone is loaded with queries. There have been thousands of queries and doubts about what food is to be fed to children for their balanced development and growth.. Here are few solutions:
Four month baby can be fed with amylase rich food, like ragi, wheat. Use sprouted food items to prepare such food. When the child is of five months, boiled and mashed vegetables are advisable. The vegetable should be in liquefied form, such that the child is able to digest it easily.
6-9 months babies must be fed on carbohydrate and protein rich food items. Fruits with high Vitamin C content, milk products, eggs, chicken and fish must be included.
Between 1-3 years, a child grows very swiftly. Here, he/she must be given butter, egg, carbohydrates and lots of fresh fruits.
However, care needs to be taken of food items which are to be avoided. For in the presence of these items in your baby’s food, however much care you take about the child’s growth and development. It won’t help.
Cakes, pastries, biscuits, popcorn and French fries are to be avoided. These are difficult for the baby’s digestive system to absorb. These have an adverse effect on the mental health of the child too, and also cause dyslexia or dyspraxia.
Refined carbohydrates can cause serious trouble. Depression, violent temperament, lower levels of IQ can be the results of in taking white bread, snacks and pistachio.
Added sugar can cause swinging moods, hyper activity and even reduced concentration. Thus, it’s best to avoid sugared drinks, sweets and chocolates.
Chemical additives can cause hyper activity and sleeplessness. Avoid yellow or orange colored fizzy drinks to keep away from chemicals.
Stimulants can bring in loads of troubles. Sleeplessness, hyperactivity and fatigue are caused by them. Carbonated drinks, beverages like tea or coffee must be avoided.
