Tips to Get Plaque Free Teeth

June 16, 2009

Dazzling white teeth make smile attractive. It is a dream for everyone to get such beautiful teeth without the aid of dentist. For this, it becomes compulsory to keep teeth plaque free. Plaque makes the teeth yellow and also makes the breath smell bad.

Maintaining plaque free teeth, that is, teeth without yellow covering is not a tough task. Following some simple tips, such as consumption of less sweeteners and daily brushing of teeth keeps them healthy and bright. To avoid formation of plaque, the following suggestion can help you.

Brush Twice to Reduce Plaque Formation – Brushing of teeth twice daily, in the morning and at night before going to sleep will not allow plaque to layer on teeth. Teeth should be cleaned from behind also. Brushing for minimum 30 seconds helps in cleaning bacteria.

Gum Care – Cleaning of only teeth is not enough; gums should also not be avoided while brushing. Plaque formation is prevented by cleaning gums and teeth both.  Use soft bristles to clean gums. It improves the blood circulation in gums making teeth strong and healthy.

Use Tongue Cleaner – Make use of tongue cleaner to clean the tongue along with teeth and gums. Tongue accumulates bacteria and plaque leading to bad breath.

Make flossing a routine – Brush can not cover all the areas of the mouth while brushing. Space between the teeth often goes unattended. Hence it is necessary to floss also daily after brushing.

Consume less Sweet – Sweets causes the excessive growth of bacteria. So try to avoid sweets as much as possible.

Take Water – Water has benefits other than helping in reducing weight and making skin healthy. Water also helps in reducing the plaque formation by flushing the bacteria out of the mouth. Take plenty of water to keep the plaque formation low in mouth.
