Treat Hangover At Home

A hangover is referred to a condition originated due to the post effects of over alcoholism. The major symptoms accompanied with hangover are swollen eyes, appearance of blood cells in white portion of eye, severe headache, body ache, nausea, wooziness and dehydration.

Given below are a number of tried and tested home remedies for an effectual treatment of hangover.

Lemon – lemon, the most common ingredient of kitchen is known for its countless benefits. Consuming a teaspoon of fresh lemon extract mixed with a pinch of sugar provides instantaneous relief from feeling of vomit and headache. A person experiencing hangover should drink a glass of sweet lemon water to fulfil the reduced levels of glucose in body. Drinking a lemon tea paces up the detoxification of alcoholic contents from body.

Hydrate – It is important to drink at least eight to ten glasses of plain water to maintain the hydration levels of body. It is evident that over consumption of alcohol causes the state of dehydration, which is one of the root causes of hangover.

Decoction – A blend of ten pieces of fresh ginger root, extract of one full orange, juice of half lemon mixed in 4 cup of honey should be given a boil in 4 cups of water to prepare a decoction. This natural decoction should be consumed to get immediate relief from hangover. Consumption of this blend also assists in stabilization of glucose levels in body.

Soup – An individual experiencing hangover should consume a bowl of hot tomato soup containing juice of ½ lemon to get rid of hangover with in span of minutes. Consuming some light eatables with soup assists in better metabolism of alcoholic contents and absorbs extra acidic bile accumulated in stomach. Twp teaspoons of honey with half teaspoon of fresh lemon extract boiled in one cup of water also endows with much relief from hangover.

Meal – A meal taken post over intake of alcoholic beverages prevents hangover up to a large extent and reduces the chances of acid reflux in esophagus.

Ripe Fruits – Eating ripe fruits rich in vitamin c is one of the most applied home remedy for hangover. It also performs a secondary function of supplementing the lost nutrients in body post over alcoholism.
