July 1, 2009

Excessive hair loss from the scalp is called the baldness. In normal situation there will be hair loss on every day and it’s a part of new hair growth.

On the skull there are certain pockets called follicle and at the base of which exist the papilla. This papilla produces the hair when there is enough keratin which in turn is produced from amino acids. The amount of keratin in the body determines the rate of hair growth.

Causes of Hair Loss

Lack of nutrients like vitamin B6 and folic acid in the body cause hair loss in many people and they can rectify this problem with the intake of sufficient quantities of these nutrients. Heredity also plays an important role in creating baldness. Unhygienic conditions will also accumulate the dirt in the follicle and this in turn will damage the hair root. Illness for an extended period and anemia will also stimulate baldness. Stress is also another reason for baldness.
