Tinnitus

Tinnitus is a noise that may develop in ear or head. It can be a swishing, ringing, hissing or clicking sound. It most of the cases it may not create any serious problem but it is a real nuisance to the patient. Usually it affects the people between 65 to 75 years and rarely in young people. Tinnitus can arise in middle ear, inner ear, outer ear or in brain. This sound may become pronounced when other background sounds diminishes. Normally we may not be aware of these sounds and when any external objects or ear wax blocks the background sound we will be more aware of this internal sound being produced that is Tinnitus.

Types of noises

The most noticeable type of sound produced by ear or brain are buzzing, roaring, whistling, hissing, high pitched ringing etc. Sometimes the sound may resemble the sound generated by a cricket match.
