Understanding Eucalyptus Better
Remedies brought down from the generations have been regarded rather highly as they are tried and tested. They have become a part of the growing up of almost all children, and have been administered by mothers and grandmothers with great success.
The eucalyptus is one of the lesser known varieties of trees. The dwelling of the koala, it can also double up as some excellent remedies and handy hints for use in the house.
Eucalyptus is ideal for curing ailments of the respiratory tract. Colds, cough, bronchitis and also flu can be cured, and discomfort reduces greatly with the use of eucalyptus.
Take one or two drops of eucalyptus oil and dab onto a handkerchief. This makes for a good inhalant and can cure headaches caused by colds. It also helps ease blocked noses.
Add a few drops of the oil of eucalyptus in hot water and inhale for a few minutes. This helps cure colds and exepls phlegm faster.
Children suffering from colds can be given bath with hot water that has a little eucalyptus oil added to it. This will help cure them faster. Another remedy is to add a few drops of the oil to a vapouriser, or use in hot water and steam in a room where the child is sleeping to allow more restful sleep at night.
Rub some of the oil on the chest to improve breathing and ease a blocked nose.
Boil the leaves of the eucalyptus in water and strain. Having a bath using this water helps rid of bronchial troubles faster.
The euacalyptus also finds another use. Added to henna, it helps enhance its colour. It is common to add eucalyptus oil to henna that is applied to the hands to give a deeper colour.
Use the eucalyptus in oil form, or with fresh leaves and see the many benefits you can bring home with it.
