Uses of Rose Water

Rose water is used for numerous purposes included aromatherapy and in preparation of various sweets to enhance primary flavor.
Since old times, rose water is being used in bathing owing to its pleasant fragrance as well as tremendous skin toning effects and is also, widely used in various remedies due to its anti-bacterial and antiseptic qualities. Few uses of rose water are mentioned here:
Toner
Rose water assists in averting development and treatment of wrinkles, acne and tightens loose skin of face. Prepare rose water toner by mixing rose water and witch hazel in proportion of five ratio one i.e. five parts of rose water mixed in one part of witch hazel. Afterwards, this blend should be mixed with one spoon of glycerin and stored in dark colored bottle.
A blend of rose water and glycerin acts as good skin cleanser. Rose oil comprises anti inflammatory properties of rose which on appliance consequently reduces symptoms associated with skin aging and helps to get rid of fine lines that appear on face. To gain a revitalized appearance of skin, pour some rose water on a cotton ball and clean the face with it after washing thoroughly with water. Always avoid usage of hard towels for wiping face after cleansing with rose water as it may lead to loss of nutrients from skin of face.
Enhances Psychological Condition
Inhaling aroma of a blend prepared with two spoons of pure jasmine essential oil in approximately 150 ml rose water assists in reducing psychological disturbances and relieves stress.
Anti-bacterial
Instead of water mix rose water for making homemade face pack and lotion as rose water cleanses the skin by preventing bacterial growth which further leads to control acne and other skin infections. Additionally, spraying rose water on affected portions of skin sooths burning sensation caused due to sunburn and helps to relieve irritation.
Flavor Enhancer
Rose water is used in variable dishes and sweets to add floral fragrance and distinctive taste. Vanilla extract replaced with rose water in the preparation of cookies and desserts provides pleasant aroma and unique taste. Rose water is usually used as a substitute of water in gravy based dishes to enhance the taste along with mouth watering aroma.
