Get Rid of Warts With Apple Cider Vinegar
Warts are growths on the skin that cause pain and discomfort especially if left without proper treatment. It is caused by a virus called the human papilloma virus (HPV) that enters through broken or cut skin. There are numerous treatments for this uncomfortable skin condition.
It can be removed using salicylic acid, freezing kits, liquid nitrogen and cantharidin. People who suffer from the complaint often visit medical professionals to have them surgically removed, a normally expensive and painful procedure.
Health magazines and websites are always offering all kinds of advise about unbelievable wart remedies. While I cannot vouch for the accuracy of those claims, I definitely think the apple cider vinegar (APV) treatment for warts is a winner. Skeptics have turned in testimonials on the web, on how well apple cider vinegar works to get rid of warts.
How You Should Go About It
The brilliance of this treatment is its simplicity. All you need are the following three things:
A bottle of undiluted apple cider vinegar,
The ends of cotton swabs or cosmetic cotton pads or cotton balls,
A box of Band-Aids.
Wash the area where the wart is present and pat dry. Soak a small ball of cotton in the apple cider vinegar and place over the wart. Use a band-aid to hold the cotton in place.
The APV-soaked cotton should be kept in place for 24 hours. If you find it uncomfortable getting around with the Band-Aid, follow the treatment at nighttime. Continue with the same steps for a few weeks, changing the cotton and Band-Aid every evening.
What to Expect
With each day’s treatment, the wart should eventually dry and turn black. Once they fall off, your skin will turn white and puffy. Continue the treatment for a few more days till the root is destroyed otherwise the wart will return.
If you are using undiluted apple cider vinegar, you will most likely experience a burning sensation or pain since APV contains acetic acid. If the pain is unbearable, you can stop and start again once your skin feels up to it. This treatment can be painful depending on the type of wart you have and its severity.
While apple cider vinegar works well on common warts, flat warts and plantar warts, it should not be used on genital warts.
