You should repeat the process by increasing and decreasing the counting for about five more times and then, slowly return back to stable breathing.

Interrupted breathing is also effective for stopping hiccups. First of all, you will have to take a deep breath in order to fill your lungs and stomach with an adequate amount of air. Now, you should slowly release the air. You will exhale for one second and then, hold your breath for next one second. You should repeat the process until you expel out all the air. After this, practice normal breathing for three times and then, continue the same process if required.

Hiccups are also related to your mind, i.e. your thinking. Eight-figure breathing is one such technique, which can give best results. You should first close your eyes and visualize the figure eight in your imagination. As you see the picture, you should start inhaling slowly. You should think that the air is flowing in and out in the form of figure eight. You should feel that the air is entering into lungs and then, into your stomach. It will then, curl back upwards and thus, form the figure eight.

Hot Breathing

Hot breathing is another type of breathing technique suitable for stopping hiccups. In this process, you will have to inhale quickly and fill your lungs with an ample amount of air. Now, you should exhale slowly while counting ten.
