Split Ends

How to prevent split ends?

Among several hair problems, split ends are the commonest and a majority of people have it. There is no permanent solution to get rid of split ends, but you can minimize their occurrence by following certain preventive measures. An individual whose hair is dry and lacks elasticity is more prone to have split ends. If you are fond of coloring your hair or if you have curly hair and you frequently make it straight, then the ends of your hair are bound to split. Similarly, those who regularly dry their hair with hair dryer also have split ends. Therefore, sometime incorporating trendy hair looks also affect your hair.

Not only skin but your hair too forms different layers and cuticle, the outermost layer, helps in protecting your hair as epidermis protect your skin. The middle layer of the hair is called cortex that consists of lengthy spiraled proteins from which masses of hair comes out. When the hair is exposed to too much hair care products containing chemicals and other straining methods, the cuticle destroys as a result of which the cortex unfolds and the split ends hair . It is really not possible to get back the cuticles after they are damaged and your hair will keep splitting.

Few tips to get rid of split ends

Always comb your hair before cleaning it to remove all the twists and tangles. Before shampooing your hair, keep it straight and begin from the scalp using your fingers and then gradually reach the end of your hair.

Avoid cutting split ends at home and prefer going to salon to serve the purpose.

Always prefer deep conditioning because it not only keeps your hair healthy but also reduces the chances of its breaking up and splitting after cleaning. Ensure to pick a suitable conditioner containing ingredients that do not harm your hair. This is one of the effective split ends treatment.

Avoid combing damp hair because this will result in more hair breakage and split ends. This is one of the simplest way to get rid of split ends.

Those having curly hair should not use flat irons to straighten it because this may lead to split ends.

Regular use of hair dryers also weaken your hair causing hair breakage and split ends. This is one of the best split ends prevention.
