Face Packs for Patchy Skin

Patchy Skin

Among several skin problems now-a-days, patchy skin is generally considered as a disease. However, experts feel otherwise and call it mere disorder. Of course, to have a smooth and shiny skin, one has to adopt too many precautionary methods. But such steps ensure that patchy skins are taken care of quite effectively. When irregular colors appear in different areas of the skin, such dark and light colored patches are termed as patchy skins. Patchy skin problem is more common in women because their skin is more sensitive than men.

The major reasons for occurrence of patchy skin are ultraviolet rays (UV rays), hormonal imbalances and atmospheric chemicals. Melanin, an insoluble pigments that account for the color of skin, is responsible for various skin colors.

Adopting wads of innovative methods, the beauty care industry has dealt the patchy skin problem quite successfully. A large number of face packs have emerged in the market applying which results into best treatment of patchy skin.

Face packs keep the skin healthy and remove dead cells, impurities and wastes from it. Applying suitable face pack on patchy skin not only removes freckles but also eliminate dirt form the skin pores which then opens the path of skin-breathing.

The skin texture can also be improved by adopting treatments like massaging, toning, steaming and firming. The skin tone where hypopigmented areas are very noticeable can be reduced by applying lotions that bleach or lighten the skin, such as hydroquinone.

Causes of patchy skin

Changes in blood vessel (vascular).

Ramification of foreign organisms on the skin.

Changes in hormones can increase or decrease pigment production thus affecting the skin.

Excessive exposure of skin to ultraviolet (UV) light without being protected by sunscreen lotion.

Different face packs to treat patchy skin

Mint face pack: Take one teaspoon of mint powder, one tablespoon of multani mitti and one tablespoon of yogurt. Soak multani mitti powder in yoghurt for 30 minutes and them mix mint in it. Apply this pack on the face and let it dry for 20 minutes then wash off with lukewarm water followed by a cold water rinse.

Peppermint face pack: Take one teaspoon of peppermint extract, one twenty five grams of brewer’s yeast, one teaspoon of witch hazel extract and one teaspoon of lemon juice and mix all the ingredients together. Apply this paste on the face and forehead and let it dry for 30 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water containing few drops of lemon juice. This procedure also improves blood circulation. This is one of the useful home remedies for patchy skin.

Coconut face pack: Mix one teaspoon of sea-kale powder and two teaspoon of coconut oil and massage the paste on face, neck and forehead for 10 to 15 minutes. Leave it on for 30 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water containing few drops of lemon juice. Then rinse off with cold water. This procedure helps in removing the blemishes from the skin and keeps it soft and smooth. This is one of the useful homemade face packs for patchy skin.

Take equal quantities of lime juice and olive oil and mix it well. Apply this mixture on face for 15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water. Then rinse off with cold water.

Take one tablespoon of rice flour, juice of two ripe strawberries and enough milk to make a thick paste. Apply this pack on the face and let it dry for 30 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water followed by cold water rinse. This is the effective patchy skin treatment.

Prepare a paste of two tablespoons of milk powder and Hydrogen Peroxide. Hydrogen Peroxide is available at all the Chemist Shops (use a 20 volume strength only). Add a few drops of glycerin to this paste and apply it on the dark spots. Let it dry for about 20 minutes and then wash off.
