Face Packs for Dry Skin
Dry Skin
Dry skin is a very common skin problem and has no permanent cure. However, embracing few remedies can make the skin softer and smoother. With its inability to retain moisture and low level of sebum, the dry skin has a desiccated look. After washing, the dry skin normally feels “tight” and uncomfortable unless some type of moisturizer or skin cream is applied. The dry skins look more parched during winter when humidity in the environment is low. There is no particular age-group for dry skins and can occur at any age and in people with or without other skin problems. Chapping and cracking are symptoms of extremely dry, dehydrated skin. Similarly, dryness of the skin gets worse by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning. Such skin looks dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes.
Causes of dry skin
As the oil glands supply inadequate lubrication to the skin, it becomes dehydrated. Similarly, exposure to the elements especially in winter could be another reason for parched skin. Poor diet in terms of nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of vitamin A and vitamin B, can also contribute to dry skin. Other factors like genetic condition, exposure to sun, wind, cold, chemicals, or cosmetics, or excessive bathing with harsh soaps can be the reason for dry skin. In some condition, diabetic patients suffer from serious skin complications. Likewise, intake of certain drugs, including diuretics, antispasmodics, and antihistamines can make the skin dry.
