What is an allergy?

Allergies are common among many people. Some people are allergic to dust, smoke, certain fruits, vegetables and even to some medicines. Allergies occur when some foreign particles enter in to the body of an individual who is allergic to that substance. The allergen can enter in to our body in various ways such as breathing, eating, drinking or even by touch. There are two types of allergies namely seasonal allergies and chronic allergies. Seasonal allergies occur only during certain seasons such as summer or winter due climatic changes. Chronic allergies occur whenever an individual come across a particular allergen that causes allergies on his body irrespective of weather or season. Allergies can be identified from certain symptoms such as watery and itchy eyes, difficulty in breathing, nasal blocking and some times rashes in the skin. Severe allergies cause vomiting, pain in abdominal areas, cramps, diarrhea or dysentery and giddiness.

There are various diagnostic tests available to determine the type of allergy. Doctors may prescribe various forms of medicines and drugs according to the superiority. There are various simple and easy home remedies for allergies available to treating allergies. These allergies home remedies include using certain natural products that we use in our daily life and also taking some precautionary measures. Green tea is the most popular tea variety commonly used by many people. Three or four cups of green tea can be taken in a day without milk. Add honey as sweetening agent for your tea rather than sugar. Black tea is also a good remedy for treating allergies.

Thyme tea is an ideal remedy for sinus and cough problems. Dried Thyme herbs can be added in the boiled water in small quantity and taken after adding few drops of honey. Thyme Tea instantly relieves from sinus trouble and cough. Peppermint is the best medicine to relive sinus and cough problems. Peppermint leaves give a refreshing taste and acts as an effective remedy for congestion. Chamomile is natural anti-histamine and it can be used in tea to get rid of allergies. One or two cups of chamomile tea on daily basis can relieve you from any types of allergies. However, people who are allergic towards ragweed should avoid consuming chamomile. This is one of the useful natural remedy for allergies.

Honey has several medicinal qualities and has been used in medicines since many centuries for treating various illnesses. Honey has good potential to resist certain allergies and is the most recommended home remedies for allergies. Always take raw honey rather than adding to your cooking as it losses its medicinal qualities when it is cooked. Look for fresh honey collected in the farms instead of buying an artificial one. Ginger is one of the effective natural antihistamine and also a good decongestant. Take a small piece of fresh ginger, wash and cut it into small pieces after peeling the skin. Put the pieces into a small mug and pour a glass of boiling water in to it. After 10 minutes add few drops of honey if needed and drink the mixture slowly. This is one of the useful allergies cure.

Garlic is one of the popular natural ingredients with its many medicinal qualities. Garlic helps the blood purification process and improves the immune system. Garlic also works as an ideal decongestant. Garlic can be added with any food item as raw or cooked. Garlic is very effective in arresting cough. Apple cinder vinegar is a granny’s remedy for treating allergic hives and itching. A small quantity of vinegar to be diluted in the warm water and applied on hives with a cotton bud relieves and gives a soothing effect. This solution can also be added in the bathing water. This is one of the best allergies treatment.

Home remedy for allergies can cure any type of allergy. The allopathic medicines give instant relief, but the Natural Cure take some time to give results. if you're looking for a really good home remedy for sinusitis... sniff cayenne pepper. it will burn but trust me, it works! pour a little bit of it on a cutting board and cut up 2 small portions (use as little as possible so this should only be a pinch). sniff 1 pinch in each nostril and i promise you'll feel instant relief after about 10 minutes or so. hope this helps.

the small piece of fresh ginger mixing with a cup of hot water and one table spoon honey is very effective for chronic allergie and eating of one piece of garlic daily is also helpful at this matter.

My 6 year old gets allergies quite often accompanied with a nunny nose which develops into a cough. She has had this problem since a baby anything thing i can use on her daily? Tired of taking her too doctors please help.

My son is 6 and has been on Zyrtec,Advair disk, nose spray and singuliar dailysince last September for a cough which is no longer present however they want us to keep on the meds..I want to help his allergies and off these Meds!! Please help

I've found that Stinging Nettle will help with allergies. I'm not sure which is the best way of taking it, but I'm [@]uming making a tea out of it would be best. Haven't tried it yet, but I've been seeing it all over the web. I believe it is something that needs to be taken once a day, but don't quote me on that. Do some more research for yourself.
