Home Remedies for Fever

Fever is best described as an increase in the body's temperature. When fever is high, it can also affect the rest of the body in unique ways. It will also be dependent on what is causing the fever to occur. If the flue virus is the culprit, there will be chills and body aches. For an infection, there will be nausea and inflammation of the infected area. A temperature of 102 and higher should not be taken lightly and should be considered serious. The higher the temperature goes the more likely that hallucinations and confusion of the mind will occur. Fever generally causes a person to be dehydrated, sweat profusely, muscle pain, loss of appetite, headache, a general feeling of weakness, shakes, and eyes that may burn open or closed.

What Causes The Fever To Happen

The temperature in the body is controlled by a part called the hypothalamus. It sits at the very bottom of the brain and keeps the temperature at the right amount. If an illness invades the body, the hypothalamus can be affected. These illnesses can include the flu, a cold, urinary infections, cancer, and Pneumonia. If the medication you are on causes the fever to occur, you can also have high blood pressure and seizures from it. The best thing to realize about a fever is that no matter what the cause, it simply needs to be broken so the body can return to normal. In doing this, it might mean the use of medication or of other herbal remedies for fever. The main point is that the fever needs to be broken and not have any reason to return.

If the fever is not serious, it is best to take to the bed and cover your entire body for a time of twenty minutes. Smash raisins and ginger together and add to boiling water. You want at least 50 milliliters of fluid. Take out the raisins and the ginger and drink while warmer use any of these home remedies for fever on children especially the willow root as it is not advisable to give children any aspirin or aspirin derivative while running a fever.

Rational Thoughts

When one has a fever, it is necessary to avoid eating solid food. This could cause a stomach upset and cause nausea and vomiting. When sick, stay away from foods that are not easily indigestible eating fruit, drinking juice, have a glass of whole milk two times a day. Stay away from fish, raw food, chicken, and foods that are fried. Along with home remedies for fever, taking it easy is needed. With proper rest and luke warm baths, the fever should disappear in no time. It may also require the use of antibiotics from the doctor to kill any virus or infection that may be causing the fever. Resting should really be no problem with how bad you are feeling because of the fever. Try one of these wonderful home remedies for fever and see if they don't work really well.
