Home Remedies for Genital Warts

When considering the treatment by way of home remedies for genital warts in your own home, you also need to consider that the ingredients used in most home remedies for genital warts can actually make the situation worse by aggravating the genitals themselves. For those that would still like to continue the course of action themselves, take extreme caution amount the sensitive areas and use proper judgment. It is also important to stop any of the home remedies for genital warts if there is any irritation or pain. Living with warts is not as bad as having permanent damage to the urinary or reproductive organs. Genital warts are very embarrassing to the individual especially if they are in a sexual relationship. Worse yet, the partner they share experiences with may or may not be the one they got the genital warts from it can actually come from another sexual partner in your past and be given to the current partner in the relationship now.

Try the home remedy for genital warts listed below and see if they can give relief from the discomfort and embarrassment this disorder causes. First, try taking a warm sitz bath. The ten or fifteen minutes you use to sit in the warm water may be the very thing that brings relief. You can also take a warm bottle of water and spray it lightly over the genital area to clean the area and to make it feel better. Warming the area with heat is the way to go. It might be beneficial in your relaxation time to add a warm water bottle to the area. Some individuals suggest the use of a heat lamp or hair dryer but this can cause the sensitive genital area to get burned. Do not consider this as an option to choose. Large amounts of heat never are great for sensitive body areas.

There are a few things that can be applied as a creme or oil to the genital area to reduce the warts. Vitamin E oil is safe for the genital area and can be applied to the warts directly. There is some talk of putting crushed raw garlic on the area and covering it with tape but that does not sound like a viable option. Not only does garlic burn but the tape can pull hair and irritate the skin immensely. This is supposed to take the wart off completely and the tape is there to catch it when it falls off in about seven days. This is not really a proven method of home remedies for genital warts. Again, the use of onions and vinegar in the genital area as is recommended for home remedies, does not appeal to the safe side of being careful with the sensitivity of the area. These items are notorious for burning and irritating the toughest skin so why use it on the most sensitive. If you cannot put it in your eye, never use it on that area. This is one of the effective genital warts treatment.

It is not unusual for the genital warts you just removed come back with more than before. It is imperative to watch out for more outbreaks as they come. For the best idea in natural remedy for genital warts, try changing your diet to be more healthy. You can even fall back on the old aloe cream that seems to be the right cure for the warts. This creme has been passed down for many years and does not affect the area it is being applied to. Aloe Vera is one of the better choices out of all the remedies for home use. Since the use of home remedies may be more hazardous to you than having the warts, it is best to speak to a special doctor who is trained to handle such things. They might be able to give advice on the right treatment and a safe one too.

I used Air Duster and froze them myself. You simply find a plastic piece with a small hole at the top to cover the infected area, for instance I used the top of a Dawn dishwashing liquid bottle. You should use a surgical face mask or a bandana so you don’t inhale the fumes, witch is very unlikely. You should also use a pair of eye goggles to cover you eyes; these can be found at Home Depot. Now that all safety measures have been taken you can begin the procedure. First take the plastic peace and cover the infected area. Second while holding the plastic piece over the wart, turn the Air Duster can upside down and spray the wart for 2 to 3 seconds until the area is pinkish red in color and the wart is frosted over. This action may sting a bit but the pain will p[@] in less than a second. Now all you have to do is wait, the area under the wart should turn black and blue in a matter of days and the wart will fall of in lest than a week. I tried this procedure after going to a doctor and having the wart burnt off the first time. They came back a month latter and could not afford to go back. I have successfully removed my warts with this procedure and it’s extremely simple, taking only minutes to do and will only cost you $5.00 or so aside from the face mask and goggles which you only have to buy once. Hope this helps!

As a healthcare provider and working as a remote medic in Afghanistan I have to write that the air duster can idea does work. However! I stress not to spray directly onto the wart. Controling the spary is difficult and there is no need to damage any skin that does not need treatment. what I recommend is that !1.You take a Q-tip and spray it with the upside down can of air duster
2. Wait till you see the Q-tip become saturated and dripping with "liquid nitrogen".
3. Then apply to the infected area.
Amazingly living out in a remote area we do not have the medications or medical grade cryosurgery supplies but we got a case of Dust-Off!

I use citrus seed extract or grapefruit seed extract and it seems to work. Always dilute it

Ha ok 1) obviously if you have genital warts go to your doctors. i know its embarrasing but its nothing they haven't seen before, its confidential, and no one (meaning friends/family/) will know your there unless you tell them why, just say its for a bad headache that wont go (: and 2) if your stupid enought to not wear a condom them...yeah you will get them (: but i guess that most of you are the....bikes in your village (: so no wonder you have them (: good day m'slags and go to the doctors (:

Hey Ashley,

Thanks for calling anyone and everyone that has warts sluts/whores when you don't even know the straight up facts. Having unprotected s@x isn't the only way you can catch this so don't naturally [@]ume those things. I think you've definitely strongly offended some people out there and I really don't appreciate it. My friend who has them caught them from a roommate who decided to share/wear all her clothes, towels, etc. knowingly that she had warts with my friend without telling her, unaware they could be spread in this way. My friend has never had unprotected s@x but breaks out too often to constantly see the doctor. Think twice about what you write next time.
#5 - Offended - 09/03/2009 - 20:41
condoms only work where the condom covers.al of mine where around the base so wats the point lol
#6 - trent black - 09/26/2009 - 18:37
I must say that not everyone who has genital warts is "the villiage bicycle". Only someone who is judgemental, inconsiderate, and ignorant of the facts would say so.

Genital warts are caused by low risk forms of HPV. They can be p[@]ed along through s@xual contact, protected or unprotected, although if you are having unprotected s@x you are at a higher risk of contracting them as well as other STDs.

Condoms will not protect you from getting genital warts if not all of the warts are covered! If the your skin comes in contact with your partners warts, you can contract them. So abstaining during an outbreak or using other barrier methods is recommended.

While warts are embar[@]ing they can be treated by various creams or procedures, and they need to be treated a.s.a.p.

Many people have genital warts and go through successful treatment, so no one should feel bad if they are diagnosed with them!

Hey Ashley,
Maybe you should think about what you say before you say it..or maybe leave your comments to yourself. You dont know everybody's circumstances. I, myself was a rape victim.
#8 - Very offended - 12/08/2009 - 18:56
Ashley, No one asked you for your opinion or words! Not everyone gets them the way you think. I do not have them BUT a friend of mine does and she got it from using her roommates bar of soap without warning, oh and just so you know my friend is a [@]. I speak for all of us who you offended..I hope you go to the local grocery store and use a toilet that someone with warts sat on and you get them on your [@]! because you made a complete [@] of yourself.
Good Day
#9 - Some People are dumb! - 12/20/2009 - 19:14
Like alot of people I have genital warts. I caught them early. I used www.amoils.com and it works but will take time to heal. Depending on how long you let them go before you treat them and how big they are. It can take 3 to 5 weeks. But have to say it does work.
#10 - Steve - 12/24/2009 - 23:06
I am currently using the ACV regimen, and in response to you Ashley, Your an ignorant cunt, you dont know how people have gotten them and you shouldnt speak on something you dont know about! Karma will turn around and bite you on the [@] 10 fold so good luck with life you waste of human life.
#11 - Jen - 03/11/2010 - 14:15
I'm currently trying out Oil of oregano (Diluted with a little extra [@] olive oil otherwise your privates will BURN! I learnt that the hard way.) I was using the ACV for a couple days but I think I burnt my skin around the wart because the 3rd night I tried to put it on it stung so badly I yelped! I'm wondering if anyone else has tried the Oil of Oregano method and how long it took before they saw improvement?

And finally. Ashley. You ARE a cunt like Jen said and I would [@]ume you are also a ditsy Wanta-knowitall brat who has been equally, if not more, ridden around town then the so acclaimed 'bicycle' you believe us to be. If not yet, you're soon to grow into it; spreading the HPV virus around with you to all the unsuspecting victims yet to come. I say this because Why else would you be on this website if you didn't already suspect you had warts, hmm?
#12 - Haley - 03/17/2010 - 23:32
you're right haley, that bitch Ashley does have warts. As a matter a fact she spread them to a couple of buddies of mine. She's a filthy slut
#13 - Ed - 04/18/2010 - 04:20
oh, my, poor ashley! rude comments and now she's a what? we all make mistakes...right? hopefully she's not spreading this, or anyone at all.
just fyi, my hubby, who I'm now divorcing, gave this to me. I got rid of the virus apparently, with a day-long regimen of MMS. Now, only two warts left out of seven, there for three years. The best thing I have found, tho painful, is wheatgr[@] pulp poutice at night (wg on cotton balls in a row on masking tape), and ACV, during the day. Oh, ouch. I heard MMS will get rid of them applied directly, so for the last two, I plan to try that. Just ordered MMS.
Okay, God bless you alll!!!
love you,
marilyn
#14 - marilyn - 06/21/2010 - 13:21
ok, that was a little confusing, sorry. I had MMS, three years ago, and ran out recently of my last batch. only the ACV was painful, not the wg. I actually blended the wheatgr[@] and water in the blender, strained it, and used the resulting pulp at night. But the last time I used ACV, on remaining wart #3, it caused injury to the surrounding tissue too. So, I'm going to try MMS on those remaining. Okay, thanks much!
#15 - MARILYN - 06/21/2010 - 13:27
had an autbrake years ago, the doctor burned them off and it was ok untill now...saw 1 or 2 now and applied apple cider vineger with a small piece of nappking, and left it on for hours, not going to lie it stings and irritated my skin a bit, but the warts became white in color like burned and almost felt off inmediately, it even burn one that was not visible yet...i have done it for 2 days in a row...will let you know the outcome...for people that one less radical approach, go to the consumer reports website, they have a few products with very possitive reports, good luck..
#16 - AKILES - 07/06/2010 - 15:17
this is for ashley not everybody gets them from just having unprotected s@x. some women get them from having a low immune system after theyve just had a kid maybe you should do some more reading on genital warts before you open you mouth about shit that you only know one cause for.
#17 - sam - 07/20/2010 - 21:18
Ive had them for 3 yrs n it [@] lol, The best thing to get rid of them is laser, but itll run you some money. For anyone looking for a cost effective solution I find that taking tons of folic acid, garlic and bilberry pills everyday keeps the warts at bay. Also the duster onto a q-tip is awesome to freeze them and costs like $5. Also do not smoke ciggarettes they will make the warts return every time!

Good luck everyone!
#18 - Mas - 08/13/2010 - 18:39

After 25 years of marriage, I divorced my spouse. I have had one boyfriend since and ended that when I caught him cheating. After a month or so after I broke up with him, I got a noticed a growth in the genital area. When the first one appeared,I thought it was a pimple and treated it as such. That only made it worse. I had saw the gynecologist for other reasons and she was not concerned about the growth. (there are multiple reasons for such changes, that do not include the HPV virus). But in the weeks that followed it grew. I suspected it might be a wart.

I am studying for a degree in holistic medicine. So ... I did some research on genital warts. One of the tests that conventional doctors use to verify the presence of genital wart is to apply Acetic Acid to the growth in question. If it turns white within 5 to 10 minutes it is a wart. Acetic Acid is the primary compound in Apple Cider Vinegar. The test proved positive.

I read on many sites that ACV removed the warts. However, after several days of application, it did not remove the warts. It only burned my skin. Aloe is also recommended for the removal of warts. I tried this as well with no results. This lead me to doing more research. Knowing that all pharmaceuticals have some kind of herbal base, I started researching how genital warts are treated by conventional medicine.

While there is no cure for the HPV virus that causes genital warts, the most effective way proven to remove warts and thereby prevent transmission is through the use of a Podophyllum resin (applied by a doctor in the office) or cream (which can be used at home). Podophyllum is the compound derived from the root of a plant family found primarily in China. One variety grows in the US: The Mayapple. It is VERY toxic so it is not to be taken internally!

I ordered a tincture (liquid form of the herb). When it arrived, I added several drops to vitamin ointment and applied it twice a day for 3 days. By day 3 ... the growth had become sore. When a conventional doctor prescribes the cream, they instruct 3 days application. Wait 4 days and apply again for 4 days up to a month. I stopped the application. It has been two days since I stopped the application and the wart is almost gone!

NOTE: Again the substance is highly toxic so do not ingest it. Use it only for topical applications unless otherwise advised by a licensed health care professional.

POINT OF INTERST: The compound derived from this plant actually kills cancer cells. In women, HPV often leads to cervical cancer. Currently the compound is being tested for the control and elimination of certain cancers with very promising results.

WARNING TO WOMEN: If you have genital warts on the interior parts of your labia or vulva, DO NOT USE THIS REMEDY. As I said, it is VERY toxic and if not used properly and with care .... it is dangerous. If you have warts in the inner labia .... seek medical attention immediately and do not attempt self-treatment.

Hi there, i'm 26 yo female living with HPV, and HSV thought I could provide some tips and insight. First let me tell you that my vajayjay does not resemble the horrific pics online, I'm not sure what I'd do if it ever did!!! But here's what has helped for me (for both HPV with warts and Herpes outbreaks) High doses of lysine for the HSV, at least 1000 mg of 'fast release' a day (can be found at rite aid, store brand only a few bucks), second I take a super B complex, and 50,000 IU's of vitamin D, and vitamin C (recommended by my doc for my immune system, because the stronger that is, the less outbreaks you have)
third anytime I have an active outbreak I apply tea tree oil directly to the effected area (stings at first but then cools very nicely especially if you are itchy), you can get a small bottle of tea tree oil at any pharmacy, they are about $10, I recommend diluting with water at first til you get used to the effect. This will not only cool the outbreak, but has strong anti viral properties that will help get rid of the bumps (works for both hpv and hsv outbreaks for me in a matter of 2 weeks).

Air is a big deal too. If you can let your no no parts swing free in the air after a shower until they are totally completely dry (i'll even lay down with a fan pointed at me in the summer nekkid), keeping dry keeps the virus from mutating/spreading/itching/burning. keep that stuff as DRY as possible!!!

also diet change is HUGE. avoid at all costs caffiene, nicotine, sugars, junk food and alcohol. These things can and DO effect you!! I no longer drink, have been back and forth on cigs (when I do smoke, I get warts, when I don't smoke, I don't and have been told by SEVERAL doctors that if you smoke ciggs, and are able to quit for a year or more HPV has been PROVEN to VANISH completely in those who quit smoking!!!! no joke, I heard this from 1 OBGYN, 1 clinician at family planning and my own family doc), and TRY to cut back on my coffee (couldn't do away with that one totally), but have had significant changes.

I eat a lot of omega rich foods as well, lots of fish or products by smart balance. I drink a TON of tomato juice and V8 (to the point where i'll even put it on my pasta instead of tomato sauce because it contains more lycopene, proven to help fight HPV, I recommend Campbell's tomato juice in a can)

The last time I drank alcohol I had been months without an outbreak (and months since I had drank) I literally had 6 beers and a couple shots and the next morning I was already breaking out again. If you drink, even casually, stop you will notice a big difference.

CONDOMS DO NOT ALWAYS PREVENT STDS!!! I contracted HPV in a relationship with someone where we were completely open about the issues we had. We used condoms every single time, and I still got this disease.

To this day under this regimine, I have only had one outbreak in the past year, it was one wart and it went away after I took a look at my diet and made sure to tighten up the reigns and take all of my vitamins every day etc etc. This does work, it does not end your life, there is no reason to feel less of yourself. Shit happens. One in five people has herpes. 20 million have some form of HPV. people by nature are animals, animals crave s@x. Don't blame or fault yourselves, or think less of yourselves.

There is a way to treat these things and make them livable! I am a very active mom/girlfriend etc, and I have never let this stuff hold me back!!! If you have questions, talk to your doctor or if you have family planning clinics I really think those are some of the best people to talk to because not only can they give you info/treatment options but they have resources for psychological support as well!!!

and for god's sake, DO NOT SQUEEZE OR POP ANYTHING ON YOUR P@NIS'S OR [@]'S!!!! If it is an STD you will only make it worse!!! hope this helps guys.

HI, i dont know what to do anymore. I have had HPV for almost a year now, and just to make things clear incase anyone like the ashley girl decides to judge me, i have never had s@x without a condom and i am not a slut.
I roughly get one every two weeks, after the secon wart i was clear for 2 months, went travellign and then i got one every two weeks again, came back, was clear for a month, and now i have one on my 'pee hole' that just wont go. I have had it frozen, and used warticon on it TWICE! this is the only wart that hasnt gone straight away. I take a mulitivtamin, folic acid, garlic, A,B,C, and E and alternate echinasisa. (sorry for the awful spelling).. I have no idea what else to try, im a healthy girl with no other health issues, im going to try the ACV tomorrow and see if that gets rid of this wart but do you have any suggestions to stop them from reoccurng??

on a different note, to any of those who suffer from HPV, one of my main worries was that no one would want to be with me.. i met this guy when i was travlling and stayed with him for a month in france, he knew and acepted me, obviously we couldnt have s@x but it was lovely to know there are some people out there who are so acepting, unfortunatly we cuold not make the relationship work as i live in england and he moves to america next month but we stay in touch all the time and he has really given me hope. I hope this gives confidence to anyone who shares this same worry.
thankyou.

Just saying....acv works. I mean I read up a lot on it before I started using it, and some people were saying it takes the warts away overnight or in just a couple days. Mine took about a week and a half, but all of the larger ones that I could see are gone now, and havent come back in the past two months so far. Just went to the clinic today and was told there are a couple small ones right beside the v@gina opening...anyone tried using acv on that part? I am worried, I know it would burn but is it even healthy if it were to get inside the v@gina?
Also, can I get some more reviews on the Tea Tree Oil? I usually would use acv overnight, shower in the morning, dry out and then put tea tree oil on in the day, but im curious what tea tree would do alone.

If your wife is pregnant she needs to go to the doctor to get it sorted. Its the safest way to get treated :)
#26 - .. - 01/18/2011 - 10:42
First and foremost I have HPV. I contracted it from my ex husband who was cheating on me. I just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 3 months ago. Was diagnosed with it while I was pregnant. While your wife be seen by her doctor, it isn't anything to worry about. It isn't contagious to the baby, nor can it cause complications. The main reason she has such an outbreak is because she is pregnant. Pregnant hormones cause the warts to reproduce faster. However, in MOST cases they will clear on their own without meds needed. Have her see her doctor for a routine pap and relax. Congrats on the baby. :)

genital warts are incurable, but there are products that could help lessen its outbreak, my sister had an outbreak before, she used a cream called oxyfend zerowarts, it really helped her, i suggest you guys use it as well if you're having problems with genital warts.
#31 - julia2 - 07/05/2011 - 19:32
I tried Oxyfend, can't argue about that...I must agree it's great. But I like using a liquid form of wart remover so I'm going to stick with Wartscide. ;)
#32 - Danielle - 07/08/2011 - 01:07
I've used a lot of OTC genital warts remedies but only Wartscide proved to be most effective. After a few days of use, the warts fell off. No recurrence ever since.

Don't stress out about it! Stress kills you know. Being an optimist, I would say that a lot positive changes have produced from this situation. Mostly a new found awareness in personal health and hygene. I have quit smoking as well as drinking. My diet has changed as I will NEVER eat YackDonald's or the like again! I have a regiment of aerobic and weight training exercise. I feel that I have changed my life for the better by 180 degrees. I find it is always funny about human nature that it seems we all have to be spurred by a negative experience. (Well at least in my case)

It did mess up my [@] life and made me highly depressed with a feeling of pure defeat. But you know the old saying, "If it doesn't kill me, it only makes me stronger!" So, I finally rose above those negative feelings because I knew they were derived in self-pity and self-destruction and would yield no possible positive outcome.

My opinion is to treat yourself excellent and don't suffer from "Dis-ease" for starters. Your immune system does not work well when you are feeling stressed-out and as many have stated here, "abusing your body." Meditating and getting plenty of sleep is the first way of making your "temple" fortified to deal with and destroy
"invading attackers." Vitamins/micro-nutrients, proper diet, and exercise are also great in [@]isting the body's immune system.

You can also, departing from the Western Medicine approach, research acupuncture/acupressure/E.F.T., reflexology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other holistic approaches to curing the (spirit/mind/body) whole person.

I feel that the absolutely amazing human body is the single greatest creation ever designed by the intelligence that is responsible for everything. The body has the ability to cure itself once a person knows how and why it functions and understands their true potential.

To some of you this may sound feasible, to others of you it may sound as just plain fantasy. In either case, I wish you all the best in all of your endeavors and in all of your lives. I also would like to thank you all for sharing your experiences.

As for Ashley, she is just a troll with a visible "tramp stamp" that reads "Huffy!" LOL! (I could not help it!)Seriously, her opinion here only has the worth we place upon it. She just wanted to cause turmoil since misery loves company. She may be spoiled or have had a poor childhood where in either case, her parents did not give her the proper attention she needed to develop into adulthood correctly. This is [@]uming she is even an adult! I wish her the best in Life, regardless.

Know Thyself! Live with Love & Peace.

I am a widow of 5 years and I am now 41 years old. I was with my husband for 20 years, after losing him it took me 2 years to actually want to meet and possibly be with somebody, being in that situation of course what I thought to be this really nice guy come along, after seeing him for 4 months I find these spots on my genitals, to my surprise yes they are GW, some of us go half our lives with not contracting anything and then BANG. So words to Ashley, I agree with what one person stated, why would you be in this section of home remedies if you didn't need the information???? Also, circumstances are different for every person and nobody has the right to judge anyone, my final words are I am a HUGE believer in Karma and one way or another things do find a way of coming back on us.

I would like to recommend a resource for your website. The website www.warts.org is an informational site that may be useful to your readers/users ~ especially the section the includes an HPV Risk [@]essment Quiz. Please let me know if this is something your are interested in using.
