Home Remedies for Nephritis

The swelling of the kidneys, in medical terms, is referred to as Nephritis. It is basically a serious medical condition that could either be chronic or acute. Coconut Water

Tender coconut water is also considered good home remedies for Nephritis. The water of one green tender coconut should be taken once or even twice a day. It acts as an effective yet safe diuretic in the treatment of nephritis.

Vegetable Juices Fasting

One of the safest home remedies for Nephritis especially intended for acute nephritis is fasting on vegetable juices. This should be done within seven up to ten days. Engaging in vegetable juice fasting will remove the toxins and some other impurities accountable for the swelling kidney.

All-fruit diet

Home remedy for nephritis - After undergoing the vegetable juice fasting, patients may now try the all-fruit diet for four to five days. After doing so, he or she can now try having intake of milk every week and the gradually try and adopt a well-balanced diet, which is of course, the most recommended of all. Aside from adopting a well-balanced diet, you may want to adopt low-protein vegetarian diet while emphasizing fruits and steamed and raw vegetables. For lunch, a salad of raw vegetables, which are in season and a dinner of one or more vegetables steamed with some nuts, will do.

Well-balanced diet

Diet for nephritis - Subsequently, the patient may slowly try a well-balanced, low-protein vegetarian diet. Further juice fasts of short duration and a strict diet for a week should be taken at two or three-month intervals until the kidney condition shows signs of stability.

Refrain from eating spinach, rhubarb, and salt

The patient should refrain from eating vegetables containing large quantities of oxalic acid like spinach and rhubarb. Chocolate, which contains oxalic acid, should likewise be avoided. Common salt should also be eliminated from the usual meal or diet. Five or six small meals should be taken in preference to a few large ones. This is one of the best nephritis cure.

Warm-water enema

Take a warm-water enema daily for you to cleanse the bowels during the initial stage of juice fasting. This is one of the important nephritis treatment.
