What is high blood pressure?
The pressure of the blood flowing through the arteries is often referred to as Blood pressure. According to medical experts, it has been regulated that the blood pressure for an individual of average age is considered to be normal when it has a reading of 120/80 mm Hg. Any reading in excess of the reading of the normal 120/80 mm Hg is referred to as High Blood Pressure.
Causes of high blood pressure
It is quite common to hear high pressure or high BP among the people nowadays. The primary cause for contracting high blood pressure among the people is the tension and the fast-paced life style adopted by most of the people living in urban and semi-urban localities. Each and every person is so busy and running around in such frantic pace, that there is not sufficient time available at the disposal of these busy persons to have a nice meal a day. While tension is one of the primary causes for this high blood pressure, other common causes for the recurrence of this disease includes genetic factors, obesity, problems in kidney, consumption of pills for birth control, contraction of thyroid diseases as well as consumption of medicines for pain relief without consulting doctors. If a person’s father or mother is a known patient of high blood pressure, there is every possibility that the person is likely to contract the disease due to genetic factors.
Symptoms of high blood pressure
High blood pressure is a type of disease, which, if contracted, needs medication for a prolonged period of time, may be medication for the rest of his life, to keep the pressure under control and not aggravate it further, which might lead to other heart related diseases. Dizziness is one of the most common symptoms experienced by persons suffering from high blood pressure. They feel as if their head is swirling and there is a possibility that they may fall down. Fatigue and a sense of restlessness are also felt by the patients suffering from high blood pressure. Simple home remedies for high blood pressure
There are a number of home remedies for high blood pressure, which, to a great extent, help a person suffering from high blood pressure, to get instant relief. One of the home remedies for high blood pressure is the preparation of a powder made of melon seeds and poppy seeds and consuming one teaspoon of the mixtured powder diluted with water twice a day, in the morning as well as in evening. Preparation of a juice comprising of 25 to 30 curry leaves with a cup of water and consuming it in the mornings is also one of the natural remedy for high blood pressure. It is advisable that such a juice can include a little bit of limejuice to make it tastier.
A mixture prepared using one teaspoon of ginger juice, one teaspoon of cumin powder and one teaspoon of honey is one of the best high blood pressure home remedies. This mixture of honey, ginger juice and cumin powder should be consumed at least for two times a day to provide effective control over high blood pressure. A cup of water with coriander leaves or fenugreek leaves mixed with water is also an effective high blood pressure treatment for high blood pressure. As part of the high blood pressure cure, it is advisable that salt content in food intake is reduced to the minimum, as completely avoiding salt is not advisable for healthy living. Avoiding oily foods and fatty content is also effective in keeping the high blood pressure in check to a greater extent. Smoking needs to be regulated or stopped for keeping a better check on the blood pressure levels of patients suffering from high blood pressure.
