Apply Face Powder

You can get the best make up in consistence with your capacity to spend money. If you feel that you have spent so much of time doing up your face without getting desired results so far try face powder to look beautiful and attractive.

Face powder is applied mainly to set makeup and giving it an even and shine-free finish. The foundation on your face and lip makeup will last longer if you apply powder.

Requirements for face powder application

You will need to use powder puffs and brushes for effective application of face powder.

Puffs: Powder puffs are available in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and textures too. Medium-textured puff made of chenille would perhaps be the better choice. You can use this for your oily complexion, which shines while using a powder foundation. Avoid applying too much powder all at once.

Brushes : You can use a brush for application of light amount of face powder. This can be the better than a puff. Avoid any loose powder by dipping the brush in the powder and then tapping it. Use even strokes while brushing the powder over your face in a downward direction. You can get the most even application by following the direction of your facial hair.

Advantage of face powder application

In order to freshen up your look after face powder you must apply moisturizer and then cover the discolored portion with a concealer. Now, proceed with a neutral eye shadow and a light coat of mascara.

Types of face powder

Block powder: Block powder is made with compression of powder into a solid block. Block powder can be used mainly for setting liquid foundation to create a naturally smooth and silky finish.

Blend cream foundation with loose powder to set the powder. You must apply block powder with a face powder brush. Stroke lightly towards the direction of facial hair till skin turns smooth and silky.

Loose powder: The untouched form of powder is called loose powder. Loose powder should be applied gently through dusting on the face and neck.

Translucent face powder: Itis applied mainly to seal the foundation and leave a lasting, silken finish. It does not change the skin tone.

Selection of face powder

Face powder is useful especially for those with oily skin. It absorbs oil from the skin. You must choose a non-oily and hypoallergenic brand of face powder. Coat the brush with powder foundation and then gently pat on the entire face in a circular motion. Avoid application in the eye area.

You can use powder brush to ensure evenness of powder application and perfectly blended powder finish on your face. Reapply powder in same way if you want to get additional powder coverage.

You cannot wear a makeup commonly for daytime and night. Since daylight is different from nighttime illumination therefore you will need to adjust the amount of makeup. Apply light makeup when it is daytime and wear bold and dramatic makeup at night. While at home you must use loose powder and for mid-afternoon touch-up you must carry a pressed powder compact.

How to apply face powder

After completing the application of foundation and concealer start covering your face with face powder. You must consider applying eye makeup only after using face powder.

Tip powder container and gently tap its bottom in order to release powder onto its top section. Dip a large puff into the powder and then tap it gently to remove any excess powder.

Initially begin with dusting on your face and then gently striking to evenly bring all the areas under powder cover. Now start applying eye makeup.

Now dab a little amount of powder onto a cosmetic puff and then apply it on those shiny areas, which have been left without proper layer of makeup.

Press powder to the skin patch by patch with the use of a cotton pad or powder puff. Brush off the excess powder with the use of a large powder puff.

Apply an ice cube over the powdered area in a circulating manner in order to set the makeup. You can also dip a piece of cotton wool in chilled water and then apply squeeze out water and press over the powdered area.
