Reality: Skin pores cannot open and close like doors. Skin pore is actually an opening in the skin that allows sebum to flow to the surface to keep the skin supple. Myth: Branded and costly skin care products are good for skin

Reality: The fact is that the skin care products available in the market contain chemicals and can sometimes rather harm your skin. These products become popular because of an aggressive advertising campaign and you start believing that they are the best cosmetic products that will perfectly suit your skin. But this does not mean that commercially-produced skin care products are completely harmful. However, it is much better to use those products which amply contain herbs, traditional oils and other natural ingredients which may not harm your skin. Using these products also makes your skin look healthy, smooth and young.

Myth: Cucumber for under eye puffiness

Reality: A majority of women take fresh cucumber, cut it into slices and put them over their eyes so that they can reduce the swelling of the skin and get rid of the wearisome look. They think that this method will help reducing puffiness of the skin rejuvenate it, but this is completely untrue. On the contrary, about 90% of the cucumber is mere water while the remaining part is inert fiber that has nothing to do with skin. Still, many people would claim that cucumber slices reduce swelling to a certain extent. Yes, but only those kept in refrigerator show some result. This happens because of the coolness of the slices. So, why to waste cucumber for this purpose if you can do it with a washcloth dampened in cold water.

Myth: Mixing lines can damage your skin

Reality: It is not the mixing of product lines but the ingredients that may cause skin reactions. Many lines make excellent products, but not every product from a particular line is necessarily right for your skin.

Myth: Certain skin care products permanently treat cellulite, psoriasis, etc.

Reality: In this case, do you think the other skin care products would survive in the market? So don’t get confused. These are selling techniques of the companies to attract consumers. This is one of the useful tips for skin care.

Myth: Lip balm contains addictive properties

Reality: You usually need to apply the lip emollient more often when its slickness wears off and someone considers it as an addiction. The fact is, you are not addicted to the lip balm but just want to wear it.

Myth: Poor hygiene and diet cause pimples, acne, and other skin diseases

Reality: Your diet or poor hygiene cannot be major responsible factors for acne and other skin impurities. In fact, these problems trigger by hormonal imbalances, stress, environmental pollution, genetic predisposition, or poor nutrition. Proper skin care diet is essential for skin.

Myth: Suntans remove dull complexions and acne

Reality: Excessive exposure to sunlight can actually be harmful for skin as signs of aging such as formation of wrinkles become prominent. Therefore, it is better to treat acne with methods other than sun exposure. And always protect your skin by choosing a sunscreen with at least an SPF 15.
