Skin Care Tips

Skin Care

Your lifestyle is associated with your daily routine and the way you take care of your body. And since skin is the largest organ of the body, you should be careful enough to keep it healthy and beautiful. Skin can be affected by both external and internal factors.

Where the external factors like over exposure to sunlight, wind, chemicals, smoking and environmental pollution are harmful for skin, the internal factors like sweats and poor diet can also affect its luster.

A balanced diet and good digestive system ensure to keep away blemishes, eruptions, patches, acne, pimples and blackheads from your skin. Similarly, select appropriate soaps and cosmetics that suit your skin type. Homemade recipes are recommended to take care of your skin as they contain natural ingredients and cause no side effect.

Skin care tips

Avoid direct sunlight, especially between 10 am to 2 pm. And always protect your skin by using suitable sunscreen.

Don’t smoke. Skin needs a lot of circulation and smoking hampers the process.

Take proper rest and protect yourself from both emotional and environmental stress.

Begin your day with a half lemon juice squeezed in a mug of hot water. Lemon is anti-bacterial and helps remove toxins from your skin. For those while oily skin can have a second drink of lemon water in the afternoon. This is one of the effective free skin care tips.

An herb or spice tea break 2-3 times a day also keeps your skin healthy. The mostly recommended spices are fennel, mint, cumin, fresh ginger root, aniseed, cardamom, rosehips and cinnamon. And the mostly recommended herbs are margosa, turmeric, marshmallow root and Indian Sarsaparilla (Scientific name, Hemidesmus indicus) and Madder.

Always eat raw vegetable salad with your lunch. If your digestive system is not strong then stick to high-water content vegetables that are easier to digest, such as lettuce, carrot, cucumber and daikon. Similarly, cruciferous vegetables can also be included in diet menu but should be steamed before eating as they are harder to digest. Fresh, green leafy vegetables should also be taken everyday as they nourish, protect and detoxify the skin.

Sprinkle dry roasted seeds such as sesame seeds, melon seeds or sunflower seeds on top of salads and soups. These seeds, being rich in nutrients and good essential oils, offer natural lubrication and are effective for all types of skin. This is one of the useful beauty skin care tips.

Avoid fatty food and prefer healthy oils. Fatty foods can clog skin pores and cause breakouts and sallow appearance. While healthy oils enhance skin health and luster.
